POLICE BETTALION HEAD QUATERS, THIRUVANANTAPURAM

I am thrilled to present an extraordinary project that involved the complete measurement, drawing, and redesign of a police battalion headquarters in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India.

The existing site presented a challenging scenario, as the condition of the government building was far from optimal. It became evident that numerous design choices made during the initial construction in 2004 were not conducive to an efficient and comfortable working environment. In 2019, our team undertook the ambitious task of not only redesigning the entire site but also creating a brand-new second floor from scratch.

To ensure a successful transformation, we engaged in comprehensive discussions with the employees who worked within the headquarters. Their valuable insights and firsthand experiences shed light on the existing issues that needed urgent attention. The concerns raised ranged from inadequate lighting throughout the premises to insufficient space for file keeping. Furthermore, the absence of dedicated meeting rooms and lunchrooms posed significant challenges for the occupants. The washrooms were in a state of disrepair, rendering them unusable, and structural damages further exacerbated the situation.

Driven by a commitment to excellence, we embarked on a mission to reimagine and redesign the entire space. Through careful planning and collaboration with architects, designers, and engineers, we set out to rectify the existing shortcomings and create an environment that not only addressed the immediate concerns but also fostered productivity and well-being.

The redesign process encompassed every aspect of the police battalion headquarters. We paid close attention to improving lighting conditions, optimizing space utilization for file keeping, and establishing dedicated meeting areas that promoted effective communication and collaboration. Additionally, we ensured the inclusion of comfortable and functional lunchrooms, providing the occupants with a designated space to enjoy their meals. The restoration of the washrooms and addressing the structural damages were integral parts of our comprehensive redesign efforts.

By infusing the project with innovative design solutions and incorporating modern amenities, we aimed to create a revitalized space that instilled a sense of pride and efficiency within the police battalion headquarters.

CHILDREN’S

The Kollam Children’s Park is an innovative architecture project dedicated to creating a vibrant and interactive space for children to learn about traffic rules, become responsible citizens, and gain valuable knowledge about traffic signals and vehicle usage. With a primary focus on instilling road safety awareness at an early age, this project aims to address the growing concern of rash driving behaviors prevalent in society today.

The park’s design incorporates various elements and features that engage children in an immersive and educational experience. Interactive displays, simulations, and hands-on activities are strategically placed throughout the park to foster a comprehensive understanding of traffic rules and regulations. These activities encourage children to actively participate, enabling them to grasp key concepts and develop crucial skills related to road safety.

The centerpiece of the park is a dedicated traffic training area designed to replicate real-life road scenarios. This section features miniature roads, traffic signals, and pedestrian crossings, allowing children to practice safe navigation while using pedal-powered vehicles or bicycles. Trained instructors and traffic experts will be present to guide and educate the children, emphasizing the importance of responsible driving and pedestrian behavior.

To further enhance the learning experience, the Kollam Children’s Park will also include a multimedia center. Here, interactive screens, videos, and engaging exhibits will provide comprehensive information about road safety, traffic rules, and the importance of following traffic signals. This multimedia center aims to supplement the practical training received in the traffic training area, ensuring a well-rounded educational experience for children of all ages.
