4

INTRODUCTION

The problem statement given to me was to design an exhibition cum display centre for a Collagecampus Global Knoweledge Centre For Indian Art and Creaft Institute. We have been given freedom to asssume the given site in any climatic zone. The Area provided for the exhibition center is as follows: Auditorium - 490 Sq.m Entrance Lobby,Reception - 130 Sq.m Exhibition Hall - 590 Sq.m Cafateria - 40 Sq.m Mini theatre & Seminar/ Preview hall - 280 Sq.m Store Toilet

Site and Climate

The topography of the provided site was uneven. A level difference of 8 to 10 m occur from one side to the other side of the plot. Few tributaries of river adjoining to the site . I have been selected the site nearby Patna which falls under hot and humid zone. Patna has a humid subtropical climate with extremely hot summers from late March to early June, the monsoon season from late June to late September and chilly winter nights and foggy or sunny days from November to February .

DIGITAL & ROBOTIC FABRICATION Compound Facade for Wiki House Through digital Fabrication we designed and fabricated a Module of Wiki House Facade. This module unifies two very distinct materials to form a structurally integrated facade module by combining the mechanical ductility of plywood with the lesser known excellent strength-toweight ratio of cellular polycarbonate. The parameters (spacing between slats and rotation of slats) can be adjusted in both the horizontal and vertical direction to optimize the energy and light performance of the building. Polycarbonate : 65 % Wood : 35% Tools : Lazer Cutting (Wood) CNC Milling (Polycarbonate)

ROBOTIC FABRICATION

The Idea is to design a Shell deformed from of Igloo which shape form helps to be stable during Snow fall. The Main concept is too adapt the properties of thermal insulation in all weather condition. The Deformed symmetrical structure will be a prototype : 1.Adapting Vernacular material llike Clay,Bamboo,Fiber. 2.The Base Frame Structure are Created with sets of Ribbed Bamboo by tensioning the different pices and tied closely with thread to maintain the load to trasfer uniformly.

URBAN FOREST,PLAZA CATALONIA,BARCELONA INTRODUCTION Could Plaza Catalunya, the main transition point of Barcelona, become an active urban forest through the use of solar movement as an input to create reactive landscapes for the leisure of the local and tourist people?

20

CURRENT SCENERIO The Active Public Space studio was a speculation on the traffic-free future of the main public plazas of Barcelona. With three forces, Energy, Technology and Society, the studio explored a bottomup design strategy rooted in automatic and in-deterministic processes, initially in drawing, then as a mean to program and activate public space. Existing in the urban core of the city The Plaza is surrounded by the city’s biggest department stores, restaurants and hotels. The plaza is frequently used for festivals and protests, and is famous for being the only place in the city where one can feed the pigeons.

Shortcoming conclusion 1.High density of cars and buses driving around it, with all their noise and pollution.

2.lack of connection between La Rambla and Passage the Grace Possible causes are Raised Plaza and High density of moving Cars.

ActivePublicSpace – Plaza Catalunya – Activity Map 21

PROPOSAL

Square will need to be adaptive to function in an ideal way. This adaptivity will be created by implementing an urban forest, using 500 moving trees. To create space for Local and tourist where they can spend their time . To achieve this goal, all the car traffic will move, to make room for a big recreational public space.

PROPOSAL

We will use the movement of the trees as a tool that open and close creating barriers, visibility, and shadows, we will create changeable spaces: They will create a connection with nature, They will turn Co2 in to O2, Their color and smell will change through the seasons, They create pleasant shadows.

Converting polluting traditional and static intersection, to a green advanced and adaptive public space.

Performative Model of Plaza Catalonia We created a system of plantation of tree which will change it´s arrangement as per the requirement of space. The plaza could be a large protection space or it could be a serice of small spaces for locals as well as tourists.

PODAR INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL,GAYA For the given site I took the challenge to create an interective environment for students in local traditional style along with taking advantage of surrounding farm lands .

24

MORPHOGENESIS

Site Surrounded by Farming Lands.

Finishing Material and paints has been choosen carefully which has Low V.O.C contents.

Local traditional Courtyard Concept

The Facade has Double layer Air Gap Brick wall on south and west side wall which will reduce Heat gain to the building.

Courtyard For Interectiv space for Students

Courtyard concept increased the energy effeciency of building by increasing the ventilation and light.
