Object: Request for authentication ATR-005878
Esteemed Museum, first of all I would like to thank you for the quick reply. Concerning the required documents, you already have all the visual material requirements about the unknown painting TWO HUTS IN SAINTES MARIES DE LA MER (Painting: Unknown, 38.00 cm. x 54.00 cm. - Attachment 1) because of the demand by Mr. Alfredo Riva dated 7 September 2016 (Reference ATR-005571 - Attachment 2): he sent you the color photographs 20x25 cm. and a CD-r with all the digital files. Legally I was the owner of the painting when Mr. Riva wrote you but, as there was an inherited benefit, he was the administrator of the goods - unknown painting TWO HUTS IN SAINTES MARIES DE LA MER included - without having the property: he was a registered commodity representative nominated by the hereditary judge. The same Court that – on December the 16th – established the retrocession of the goods in my hands due to the fact I’m the only general heir (Attachment 3). The notarial act that gives me also the possession of the painting is represented in the Attachment 4. On November the 10th 2016 you answered Mr. Riva that he could deliver the work to the Van Gogh Museum in March 2018 (Attachment 2). Last week I wrote an e-mail to Mr. Hogerwerf, named at the end of the missive to Mr. Riva, to fix an appointment before bringing the work in Amsterdam to be able to have a correct and precise idea of the costs of haulage, art handling and insurance I have to face. He suggested me to do a new application for authenticity research request and you kindly answered me. My intention is not to lose the priority assigned to the same painting which was scheduled to be delivered in Amsterdam in March 2018 as the owner didn’t change, even with a different request’s reference. Essentially I wonder if the papers in your possession (Reference ATR-005571) are sufficient, if the priority given to the unknown painting TWO HUTS IN SAINTES MARIES DE LA MER is confirmed or when I’m supposed to bring the work in Amsterdam – if it’s possible even before March 2018 -, if I have to translate the legal documents I sent you (I couldn’t do it in advance because I had to show you the formal ones) and the correct iter I must follow for the authenticity research.
