en route is a walking, listening, immersive journey through the streets of Singapore. Conceived by one step at a time like this, a collective of Melbourne artists known for their journeybased, mobile and immersive works, en route is a love song to our city, unfolding her myriad spaces, both personal and private, present and past.

Engaging with audio, mobile phones, urban streetscapes, walking and the city, en route invites you on a journey – both inward and outward – through the thoroughfares and backalleys of Singapore and what you make of it.

As you journey, fragments of narrative, musings, local music, sound, philosophy intertwine with directions, wanderings, observations and found experiences. The spontaneous choreography of passers-by, streets, alleys and buildings becomes the site onto which you project your own narratives and meanings.

Part traveller, witness and voyeur, come view the world in the process of making itself – en route – emerging, dissolving, as perceptions, insights, senses, make and remake the city you inhabit.
