ABOUT ME Sifrah Firgad Hewis is an Indonesian student (18), currently based in West Jakarta, Indonesia. She went to Pelita Harapan University to study Visual Communication Design for a year with 2 semesters and will continue her education at Fashion Institute of Technology, New York majoring Fashion Business Management (AAS) in Fall 2022. She started doing photography since 2017 and learned it academically at her design education in Pelita Harapan University. The Visual Communication Design major taught her product photography (includes: brand analysis by features, function, composition, moodboards, and marketing target: demographic, psychography, and geography), portraits using various kinds of lighting, basic photography techniques, and image analysis: angle, camera shots, visual elements, visual principles, rules, and connotative and denotative analysis). She is also capable in using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and inDesign. Other than university tasks purposes, she also take pictures of landscapes and animals during her mean time. Product Photography A mid-term assignment that assigned each student to pick a food product and took them from several angles such as: product three quater view, product in use, product details, and product with ambience (still life). All pictures are required to be taken using LED Continuous Light, and showed the character of the product and the mood of the photo. The stages of my work process including the product selection, analysis of the product, keywords, photo/lighting settings, and informative mood-board (target market, colors, visual references, and properties used).
Some keywords that I took are elegant,
feminine, and class.
A demographic target of 21-30, working women, in a middle to high economy class.

03 FIVE BASIC LIGHTING According to the material that has been given about the five basics of lighting, including Butterfly, Loop, Rembrandt, Split, Clamshell, in this final semester exam, I was asked to make five photos according to the five lighting above with the theme movie action figures, by imitating a favorite movie character. Nina is a female main character in the movie “ Black Swan “, her mysterious, dark, and sad character were all depicted and redrawn by the makeup, costume, and various poses in this project. This project was done with process such, concept assistance, property plans, costumes and posing assistance. Photo execution is done indoors using studio lights (LED continuous light).
