sub-floor. Schönox® SDG is a rapid drying liquid DPM which can be used up to 90%RH after applying 2 coats. It requires no additional primer before screeding, and so was ideal for this project, as Rees Flooring was then able to damp-proof and screed all on the same day.

spread 2 inches either side, using a wire mesh for reinforcement. Schönox® SHP primer was then used on top to allow a good adhesion for the latex levelling compound to be used.

Using hygrometers, several moisture tests were undertaken to establish the moisture content of the sub-floor and whether a damp proof membrane would be required. Being a working construction with many different trades onsite, testing had to be undertaken over a 4 week period when rooms and corridors where floors were to be laid, were released. The readings were between 76%RH & 88%RH so Schönox® SDG DPM was advised for damp proofing the entire

Before the DPM was installed it was decided with help from the Schönox® technical team, to tackle the construction joints with a polyurethane (PU) adhesive system: Schönox® PU900. This allowed for a quick solution when time is critical, as is often the case on such installations. Schönox® PU 900 adhesive was poured into the joints and

As the subfloor on the first floor was very uneven, giving a wave like effect, an effective levelling compound laid up to at least 8mm was required. Schönox® LC was ideal as it can be used up to 20mm without bulking out. Schönox® LC levelling compound was used at between 8-10mm on the first floor, and on the ground floor at 5mm. Finally, Schönox® Emiclassic adhesive was used to bond all safety vinyl sheets.

Schönox® ZM Rapid

Schönox® FPL Plus

Rapid setting self-levelling compound with very low emissions, for internal applications.

A self levelling compound for use from 3-50mm, or 60mm with aggregate.

For layer thicknesses 1 to 10mm without aggregates and 5 to 25mm with added aggregates. Suitable for almost all internal substrates, SCHÖNOX® ZM RAPID allows coverings to be laid after approximately 90 minutes. With very low shrinkage and good absorptivity, SCHÖNOX® ZM RAPID is suitable for underfloor heating applications. It is also suitable for castor wheels loading with layer-thicknesses great than 1mm (according to EN 12 259).

Noted for its rapid hardening, high strength, and low shrinkage, SCHÖNOX® FPL PLUS can be used for both interior & exterior applications, as it is both frost resistant and waterproof. Suitable for use with underfloor heating systems, SCHÖNOX® FPL PLUS is both pourable and pumpable, and is ready for covering after approx. 4 hours, for ceramic tiles on concrete floors. It has low VOC emissions, and is regulated under EMICODE EC1 Plus. After adding 4.5 litres of water to 25 kg of powder, SCHÖNOX® FPL PLUS is ready to use.

SCHÖNOX® iFLOOR® Dispersion based rollable adhesive for laying of all types of luxury vinyl tiling on levelled substrates by professional fitters. SCHÖNOX® iFloor is a revolutionary new system that incorporates a unique rollable adhesive that provides an extremely clean and fast installation. No excessive adhesive residues, and no residual adhesive moving up through the joints, leaves the vinyl surface clean, as well as the installer’s hands. By forming a flat adhesive bed instead of adhesive notches, this product will not cause point load deformation. As only a thin layer is required, it boasts particularly high coverage rates. It bonds the vinyl immediately, allowing for immediate foot traffic, and therefore a very fast installation.

SCHÖNOX® DUROCOLL

SCHÖNOX® TACKIFIER

Multi purpose dispersion adhesive for bonding all types of soft floor coverings in internal areas.

Roller applied anti-slip tackifier for fixing all types of carpet tiles.

SCHÖNOX® DUROCOLL is an adhesive ideally suited for use with problematic, high movement soft floor coverings. This high quality, fibre reinforced adhesive is appropriate for use with underfloor heating systems, and has a low consumption with high coverage. It is easy to apply and rapidly builds to a very high final strength. This product compensates for the higher plasticity of some imported vinyl products.

Used internally, this product is easily applied by roller to fix all types of carpet tiles to most substrates. It has low consumption and high coverage rates. By remaining wet (tacky) for a very long period, the product holds carpet tiles in place, but also allows for the easy replacement of tiles when required. The product is suitable for use with underfloor heating systems and in areas where castor load bearing is expected.
