The origenal structure and material of these two space are try to be keep as much as possible, base on that, modern material such as stainless steel, glass, are combined local traditional texture and elements. On the other hand, all the wood structure, red bricks are preserved the origenal forms.

The main theme of the design is the connection of New & Old, Traditional & Modern, Time & Space.

In additon to the using of the huge rainbow installation lighting, Chinese lanterns, these two space are far more interesting and special.

Bubble Restuarant Project Type: Undergarudation Design Tutor: Lin JI Size: 1 floor Building area: 2300 sqm Design Period : 2011/02-2011/05

Bubble Restaurant ( Acdemic)

The inspiration of my undergraduation design is from a movie called " Bubble Boy ", it is a story of a boy who lives in a bubble and cannot touch the world outside. The restaurant is a open space, transparent bubble separated the customers and make them talk freely. The shape and special color of bubble are used for the design of furniture and lighting. Making the reataurant like a movie scene.

Yading Cliff Boutique Hotel | Fix the Counter Line

Sketch for brainstorming The concept of the building was inspired by the terrain of the cliff itself. The local mountain has had landslides in the past. As nature formed the mountains in the first place, it also creates the imperferctions. We want to use our man-made construction to fill the remaining viod. The building is divided into several independent linear spaces according to individual functions. All these linear space several bridges connecting the split mountain. These spectacular linear buildings are designed with different reflected materials including a folding facade, in order to reflect the spectacular view of nature opposite the cliff.
