Put flowers in your guns! 2013 | Final examination project Prof. Frederic Barogi 15,500 m2 built | 44,000 m2 park
The project site is in Brescia, in an abandoned industrial area. The requalification of this piece of city has the purpose to become the spark for the renewal of the whole area, becoming a pole of attraction. I used a contemporary language which connects with the existing urban fabric: the project values the contact with nature and the communication between people, due to the integration of open spaces and buildings. Therefore, the botanic park and the Faculty of Botany have a unitary and intelligible pattern based on the design of the industrial constructions. I re-used the existing walls of the abandoned factory for the faculty buildings and kept the typical visual permeability of these spaces by using suspended volumes, glass roofs and greenhouses. Both in the park and in the buildings, widening spaces are meant to be used as little squares to communicate with people and enjoy plants. I applied principles of sustainable architecture, as solar systems.

Despina 2012 | Architectural Planning V Prof. Gianluca Frediani | Prof. Cecilia Rostagni 13,000 m2
The course aim was to synthetize the students’ skills through some different projects during the final academic year. From the design of a table to the planning of an area outside Ferrara, I had to develop various aspects of my creativity and to apply several communication techniques. The results were then collected in a final book, which comprehended also two essays. The team-project in Ferrara is called Despina after Calvino’s invisible city and is a park on the surface and a parking exchange in the underground.

Hotel Douro ***** 2010 | Project IV Prof. Carlos Prata | Prof. Carlos Guimarães 18,000 m2 built
This five-stars hotel lays on the riverside of the Douro, close to the ocean. The site offers a majestic view of where the river meets the see: I chose to privilege this view by building a multi-floor hotel. I had to satisfy a complex programme for this project, which included congress centre, spa, gym,
restaurant, bar, parking, seventy double rooms, and thirty suites of different sizes. I understood how to coordinate the service –as general service, administration, kitchen, laundry, technical and loading areas– to the public zone. As a result of the planning work, the first three floors, from the underground to the first one, host service and entertainment, while the bedrooms occupy the floors between the second and the sixteenth. The biggest suite is on the last floor. I also studied the technical aspects of this project in the Structural Systems course, and I drew manually a panel of perspectives about the hotel for the Architectural Drawing course.

Este yacht factory 2009 | Architectural planning III Prof. Sergio Zanichelli | Prof. Antonio Stella 375,000 m2 area | 5,500 m2 factory
For this team project, I had to design a yacht factory and the future commercial harbour on river Po in Comacchio. The site is next to the riverside and was previously occupied by an abandoned sugar factory and its beet fields. I filled one third of the whole area with water to create the port and then drew a park, the factory, a showroom and administration offices. Water basins lay where once were the buildings. I focused on the boat factory and studied the production process. I put the main building inside a soil bank to conceal it from the surrounding countryside. I exploited orientation principles and used heavy-industrial materials as COR-TEN steel and polycarbonate panels.

Photography 2009-2013
I like Photography very much, both as shooter and estimator. I have started to get interested in Photography since the first year of university. I draw inspiration from the work of Luigi Ghirri and Candida Hรถfer. My favourite subjects are night photos, but I also enjoy architecture and street photography. I wish to deepen my knowledge through a professional course. All the pictures used in the current portfolio belong to me.
