“To put it simply, I feel like a girl trapped in a boy's body, and I've felt that way ever since I was 4. I never knew there was a word for that feeling, nor was it possible for a boy to become a girl, so I never told anyone and I just continued to do traditionally 'boyish' things to try to fit in. Leelah Alcorn
For Leelah Alcorn
This story is dedicated to the life of Leelah Alcorn, mine or to any other kid that could be transgender. This story plants a seed based on Leelah’s words as wished on her last letter. Her departure brought sorrow and sadness to thousands of people around the globe, without distinction. We will soon re-unite dear Leelah. In your memory, Diane RodrĂguez Author
Josh feels like a girl.
He doesn’t have fun as the other boys.
Josh likes to play girls’ games and play with girls’ toys.
Josh takes care of the dolls, he combs their hair and washes their clothes.
Josh’s family is a very loving person and understands him.
His mom’s name is Teresa and his dad’s name, Carlos.
Initially, when their son wanted to play with girls’ toys…
…his parents didn’t understand.
Later on they realized that Josh‌
‌was happy playing with those toys and games.
Josh shares with his family…
…how he wears girls’ clothes.
Josh´s talk about being a princess, such as those found in fairy tales.
He also hums and sings songs for those small and cute femenine characters he admires on television.
At his school,
Josh´s classmates and friends love him very much.
At the beginning when he played with dolls at his school,
no one understood him.
Later on they knew, like Josh’s family, that he was happy the way he felt.
Now Josh is much happier at his school with his friends and classmates.
We don’t know if Josh will become a princess.
What we know is that he’s a happy girl.
