APPAREL / SPRING SUMMER 2011 Roxy takes you on a California trip for the summer of 2011 and revisits its «best-of» to serve up a summer that is colourful, vibrant, gay and full of life! Long live the yellow, orange, pink, blue and green in their acidulated, fluorescent or electric variations, a return to the 80s mixed with the rich colours of vintage surfboards. Delve into the DNA of the brand, work the colours, prints and details to create an element of surprise and embrace the difference. Roxy refocuses its product offerings which have proven successful for the brand with an avalanche of t-shirts, beach dresses, sweatshirts, shorts and swimsuits. A return to its origins and authenticity under the California sun. Experience Malibu, Laguna Beach or Newport Beach as if you were there!
Our most popular beachwear products display a colour palette worked in a spectrum of tones to mix and match at will; available in thirty warm colours that can be mixed and layered over others : an avalanche of pink, yellow, green, red and blue. Neons, fluorescents ... no compromises on colours that create a strong visual impact.
Recreating the beach style with the pre-washed and worn look - sun and salt faded effects - applied on all products - to give a soft and worn touch. Subtle references to brand standards like pocket linings in Hawaiian print, finishes with playful touches that are fun and colourful for all products, including the basics.
2011 marks the return of prints from the surfing world. Roxy brings back prints from the 90’s in saturated and vibrantly recoloured versions. Classics like the two-toned Hawaiian revisited in neon colours. Not to mention the grand return of checks, stripes and polka dots in all their various forms: micro, multi, oversized or irregular...

The vintage spirit in a modern incarnation with wonderful added value in the form of «handmade» applications and patches affixed subtly and delicately on the product to create an impression and accentuate the uniqueness of each item. The materials are pre-washed, bleached to look faded and worn from too much sun and sea salt to give a softer feel. To comfortably enjoy the sun’s warmth, the body requires lightweight fabrics such as jersey, cotton and poplin. Lightened fleeces become even finer like a second skin.

Roxy dives into the California Pop Art trend by mixing codes and standards of the alternative surfing world with pop art culture. Roxy likes crossing eras and genres. The colourblocks are reduced to obtain strong contrasts. The treatments and washes are pushed to the limit to give a super worn-out, super faded effect - the shapes are lightly deconstructed. The design geometry creates a shocking interplay of colours and prints. The neon treated watercolours are just like splashes of paint.

Alongside the Coast and Downtown themes, Roxy has developed four capsule collections of five items each, a tad sharper, but still inspired by California and surfing. They can easily be combined and layered over items from the main collection.
California Rock A capsule comprising exclusively of knit tops with graphics that are a delicious blend of art nouveau and 80s retro-inspired airbrush.
The Echo Beach Borrowed from the name of the legendary surf spot located on the 54th in Newport Beach, Echo Beach is primarily a state of mind.
The pieces have been subjected to a special potassium based treatment process to give them an ultra worn effect, reflecting the pre worn look... a bit of grunge rock
In the 80s, a band of young surfers decided to create their own style with a single purpose in mind: putting the fun back in their look. This was the spark that lit the surfing industry Roxy was thus inspired by these iconic images to create a capsule line: the geometry of the ‘50s-dyed with colourblock and bleached neons. A melange of vintage and contemporary style seeping through in the famous checkerboard print in 3D version and the neoprene patches, a real nod to the surfing icons
Baja California Mexico is along for the ride on this California trip ... Roxy focuses the spotlight on the «handmade» trend with embroidery, textures, woven strip and bands reflecting their South American inspiration. Details and finishes worked with a skilful touch into hand-sewn patches, deliberately old-fashioned notions.
