We will repair your equipment onsite if possible, but bear in mind that our engineers can only carry a limited number of spare parts with them. After your annual safety inspection our engineer will provide a Certificate of Inspection for you to display. Displaying the certificate demonstrates good practice to Ofsted and insurance companies.

Reupholstery - PVC We offer a reupholstery service for all your fitness equipment pads. Please send us a swatch of PVC to enable us to match the colour and a list of the pads required and we can give you a firm quotation. We can undertake this work onsite ensuring your equipment is out of use for the shortest possible time, or if you prefer you can send us the pads to be recovered and we can return them the next day.

Removals and storage If you need to relocate equipment, ask us about our removal service and storage facility. As a registered waste transfer facility, we can also remove and recycle your old, unwanted equipment.

PIPA and soft play inspection Sportsafe can provide new as well as inspect and repair your current/ existing inflatables. To minimise disruption to your site activities all our inspections are carried out onsite. We also offer tagging and testing for bouncy castles and other inflatable play. Sportsafe are able to provide this service onsite at the cost of £205.00 per inflatable (dry) for an onsite inspection.

Performance Inflatable Play Accreditation (PIPA) All inflatable play equipment that falls within the scope of the PIPA scheme should carry a PIPA tag and be listed on the database.

New inflatables We are also able to provide new inflatables for both ‘dry’ and ‘wet’ applications. A range of sizes are available and products can be individually themed or branded with sponsorship logos. All inflatables come with a warranty and are PIPA tagged as appropriate.

RPII safety inspections Leading the world of play safety RPII works with Sportsafe to bring you annual safety inspections. Together we bring worldwide, practical experience to provide you with meaningful and sensible inspection reports – giving you the information you need to make your equipment as safe as necessary.

RPII believes that play areas should be as safe as necessary – not as safe as possible. We currently undertake 15000+ inspections in the UK each year. All of our playground inspections are carried out by fully qualified members of Register of Play Inspectors International (RPII) and who are DBS checked. We carry public liability and professional indemnity insurance of £10,000,000. We also operate under a quality management system to ISO 9001 that is certified by BSI – certificate number FS 522192. Annual inspections and risk assessments are the recommendation of both the HSE and the British and European Standards (BS EN 1176). They are used to check the condition of the equipment and detail any compliance defects. Faults and failures

are risk-scored to enable you to prioritise works required. The annual inspection can also be used to check maintenance works carried out and determine any recurring problems that may arise. Our annual inspection and risk assessment includes all fixed play equipment and associated surfacing as well as the site and ancillary items (seats, bins etc.). Artificial sports pitch maintenance Until recently many people still considered synthetic pitches to be maintenance-free, but sadly this is not the case. Artificial pitches have been studied for over 20 years, and in this time many synthetic surfaces have aged prematurely due to incorrect or no maintenance, and have had to be replaced within their first 5 years. In normal circumstances you should expect to enjoy at least 10 years of useful life from your surface. Indeed, some correctly-maintained pitches are well over this age, with one nearing its 25th anniversary!

For those clients on a tight budget, or synthetic sports surfaces with minimal usage. Close monitoring of the surface should be undertaken to ensure the level of maintenance is adequate. As each facility manager’s circumstances may be different, every maintenance package can be individually tailored to include as few or as many in-house skills and resources as are available. To achieve this, a comprehensive pitch assessment is first carried out. The assessment not only includes all aspects of the pitch surface but also the surrounds, equipment and onsite machinery. After discussions with site staff, a maintenance programme would be formulated and guidelines issued.

We can lay any combination of games lines to your specification. It is customary to have these lines painted with proprietary high traffic line paints but in some circumstances we are able to tape games lines using suitable heavy duty tapes for the same price. Individual sports markings can vary.

Where unsafe or unfit surfaces are found solutions and advice can be offered on how to overcome these problems quickly and efficiently. This installation was designed to support the training of Great Britain’s Under 20’s basketball team, and to create a venue for several international basketball tournaments. Archery netting is designed to slow down and stop arrows to avoid injury, arrow loss and strays. It consists of a fine cotton and polyester mesh available in white or green and can be used indoor or outdoor.

Supplied and fitted to enable outdoor sport areas to be sub divided for maximum use of court space. Black 50mm mesh with a weighted bottom edge fitted on to a wire tension system makes this an ideal and easy way to divide playing areas.

Spotting decks During trampoline use at any level, the British Gymnastics Association (BGA) recommend the use of end decks or “Spotting Decks”. If you were to put new and remanufactured items of the same equipment next to each other, you would hardly be able to tell the difference.

Refurbished equipment is a good choice if you are on a tight budget. This is used equipment that has been stripped down, lubricated and had all components assessed. Each machine is cleaned and the paintwork touched up where needed, before full testing that ensures it is 100% operational.

That’s because remanufactured equipment is built using original parts, cleaned and finished as new - with replacement parts used where needed (except for the belts which are sourced from another supplier). Multi-use games areas (MUGAs) Sportsafe manages new installations, repairs and maintenance of all MUGAs. MUGAs have evolved significantly over the last few years and the new era of synthetic surfacing has overtaken the old grit surfacing, improving the performance and safety characteristics of multi sports surfaces at schools and clubs. With the increasing demand for a variety of sports both in the community and in our schools, it is difficult to provide individual facilities to cater for all sports in all weathers. Worn out sports pitches and courts can be resurfaced using a range of different synthetic surface types, including:

• 3G rubber infilled synthetic grass for football and rugby • 2G sand filled or sand dressed artificial turf for multi sports including hockey • Needlepunch fibre bonded turf which can be installed in a range of bright colours for football, hockey and athletics • Macadam and polymeric court surfacing for football, tennis netball and basketball.

Wet pour rubber Continuous wet pour rubber crumb is a popular safety surfacing as it provides many years of low maintenance use, along with a contemporary and colourful appearance. Its finished appearance is likened to tarmac but it is formed from either black or coloured rubber granules mixed with a specialist binder.

Expert installers Our team of wet pour rubber crumb installers has remained unchanged for over 10 years, giving our customers confidence that our expertise in the field of laying this type of rubber safety surface is second-to-none. We undertake complete groundworks, excavating and laying appropriate drainage materials before installing the base and top rubber surfaces if necessary. We install new surfaces and can also overlay new rubber over old rubber wet pour or tiled surfaces.

Work to European Standards We work to European standards EN1176 and EN1177 which recommend the thickness of surface needed. The thickness of rubber ranges from 20mm to 90mm and is dependent on the critical fall height of the play equipment.
