All shore experiences in the Galápagos Islands are complimentary with your expedition fare and include expert-led Zodiac, kayak, and hiking excursions. Depending on the island, exploration may include wet and/or dry landings; in locations where going ashore is not permitted, we will navigate by Zodiac for intimate perspectives. All activities are hosted by our skilled and passionate guides in small groups. Here we share a sampling of some of the experiences you may enjoy in the Galápagos:

BUCCANEER COVE, SANTIAGO (WESTERN)– Zodiac Cruise

Appreciate the volcanic creations in the bay – once visited by privateers and buccaneers, but also where Darwin disembarked and camped, likely impressed by the giant tuff cone Cerro Conway.

DARWIN BAY, GENOVESA (NORTHERN) – Guided Hike

Enjoy a nature walk along a trail covered by coralline shells and a white sandy beach and be amazed at the sheer number of seabirds who make their home here, including Red-footed Boobies.

ISLA BARTOLOMÉ (WESTERN) – Guided Hike

Trek to Bartolomé’s summit for a breathtaking view of the surrounding islands; learn about the spatter cones, lava tubes, and tuff parasitic volcanoes akin to a moon landscape.

ISLA GUY FAWKES (WESTERN) – Deep-water Snorkelling

Explore the waters surrounding this cluster of four small islets, home to impressive walls covered by invertebrates such as corals and sponges, big schools of fish, and possibly manta rays.

NORTH SEYMOUR (NORTHERN) – Deep-water Snorkelling

Allow the current to gently guide you along the shore, passing areas covered with schools of King Angelfish and Razor Surgeonfish. Keep an eye out for resting stingrays and reef sharks.

PUNTA MANGLE, FERNANDINA (NORTHERN) – Zodiac Cruise

Discover the youngest of the islands – new lava fields sprout pioneer species of plants, and it’s a birdwatcher’s dream; look for the Galápagos Penguin, pelicans, cormorants, and more.

RODRIGUEZ BREEDING CENTRE, SAN CRISTÓBAL (NORTHERN)

Visit one of the most successful breeding programmes in the islands for up-close encounters with Giant Tortoises; watch them slowly chomp on food, and see babies thriving in special corals.
