This is the 1st chapter of my Thesis Book, degree in Industrial Design, Visual Communication course, Design Faculty - Politecnico di Milano - Italy. Sensoriality approach in design is the main subject of the book, the first chapter analyzes the Basic Design pedagogical approach since its origins to now, useful to understand why it's so important to experiment with our senses into design domain. Next chapters are focused on sensoriality and synaesthesia phenomena, multimedia and virtuality and the idea of a sensorial laboratory where to make experiments with our senses; the aim of this laboratory is a new idea of design as something very focused on our needs and sensorial responses and expectations.
