What is 50°52’05.7”N 2°27’08.6”W? It is a development of a Glanvilles Wootton barn in library. Indeed, thinking to a cosy village in the middle of the English countryside, I believe that a library can be a useful public building. The reason why I think that, it is because the library is a place where everyone should pass out of duty or necessity. In addiction, most of Glanville population got a high education out of the village, I could even hazard to say that they went thousands miles away. Hence, why do not start the first step to improve the village with the construction of a knowledge center few steps away from the city centre? Why do not make other people life easier and happier? As a consequence, I would love to design a cosy space. Not just a library, but also a group study space, a silent study area, a quiet study space, a place for meeting, a center to enjoy, an area for fast breaks done by coffee and snacks, an external space to chill out a bit. Therefore, I want to create a building where a society can get richer.
Knowledge is power. Information is liberating. Education is the premise of progress, in every society, in every family. Kofi Annan

CASE STUDY: Yue Library Beijing Fenghemuchen - China - 2019 - library
The Yue Library was selected has a case study for its atmosphere. Indeed, its 10-meter-high interior is caracterised by natural wood construction creates the impression of wandering in a forest of books. The purpose was trying to keep the use of other materials and design language to a minimal degree, in order for the innate property of wood to be highlighted in a simple and unpretentious manner. In addiction, large floor-to-ceiling glass windows allow plenty of natural light to enter, cascading down the large stairs, and at the same time providing direct views toward the garden outside. Light comes inside also through frames between bookshelves.
