West Australian member, Audrey Weightman of Topweight Simmentals and South Australian member, Tom Baker, were awarded Life Memberships for their years of service to the breed at State and Federal level at the 50th Anniversary Gala Dinner at the 2022 Sydney Royal Show.
Audrey was nominated for her work in promoting Simmental across the world at each World Congress she’s put the time and money into attending over her near 50 year time with the breed.
Tom was nominated for his work on the South Australian State Branch committee and his service to younger people who have gone on to invest in the Simmental breed.
Victorian members, Peter Wenn of Pinaroohills Simmentals and Garry Gillett of Lara Leigh Simmentals were awarded Life Membership at the 2022 Melbourne Royal for their lifelong support of the breed in their State branches and at Federal level.
Peter and Garry both work tirelessly for the State and Federal Committees and both thanked their families for their ongoing support. The volunteer time this entails cannot go unrecognised.
World Simmental Fleckvieh Federation awards Golden Book Award to Peter Wenn. The Golden Book Award is the most prestigious award a Simmental Breed Society can give to a member and is awarded by the World Simmental Fleckvieh Federation for significant contribution by a person or organisation to the development of the Simmental/Simbrah breeds.
This year, Peter Wenn of Pinaroohills Simmentals in Victoria, was given this award at our 50th Anniversary Gala Dinner in Sydney. Peter was introduced as the winner by longtime friend of Simmental Australia, Fred Schuetze of SOT Simmentals, Texas, USA as being a very worthy recipient.
Peter joins fellow awardees, Thomas J. Liley, David Emerson, Charles Cowcher, Bill Almond, Peter Speers, Dr Arthur Rickards, as worthy Australian recipients.
