I’m Simon, an adventurous design engineer with a heart for nature and a passion for product development. I’m a creative person who likes to work with new technologies and bring fresh and innovative ideas to life. I’m motivated by the opportunity to bring change to a company and to a market through new products and new production techniques. I’m a hands on designer that uses prototypes, experiments and tests as well as CAD for my designs. I’m a very independent person with a very fluent social contact allowing me manage projects in a natural way.

VERTICAL FARMING Vertical Farming In this project I worked together with bio-engineers and HVAC-engineers in order to develop different vertical farming concepts. In 2019 I designed a prototype that was built and now produces basil (and soon coriander) for every Bio-Planet in Belgium. I drew the whole installation in Solidworks and coordinated with my colleagues and suppliers in order to get every part finished and ready for installation in time. The main difficulties on
this projects were to create a whole agricultural system starting from soil preparation up until the packaging. As the head design engineer on this project I also designed this process and supported the design of the packaging as well as the development of tools and cleaning solutions. The main goal of our vertical farming was to produce quality greens all year long with the lowest carbon footprint in Belgium. - Vertical Farming -
