1 Rimini Fiera

Rimini trade fair - Italy

July 2010 Second year - 5 months solo project Drawing studio 2 - Surveying, CAD learning, architectural drawings, architecture visualization Urban scale - Building scale #Trade #Fair #Surveying #Drawings #Archiviz #CAD #Concrete #Timber The aim of the course was to study, survey and rebuild in a CAD software, and with sketches the project for the actual Rimini Expo Centre, designed by Hamburg´s Studio GMP and inaugurated in 2001,the project is located at the north end of the town, in a total area of 160,000 square meters. The huge barrel vault built in laminated timber is studied and replicated using a parametric code for the software Autodesk AutoCAD and studied in its details with free hand sketches. The objective was to acquire needed skills to understand and represent architecture in both sketches and virtual images.

2 Guadaluz house

Sevilla - Spain

July 2010 Second year - 5 months group project with: Riccardo Tosetti, Francesco Pizzutilo, Tobia Scurani Architecture and Project Studio 1 - row typology case studio Building scale - Furnishing scale #Housing #Villa #Line #Sustainability #private #Architecture #interior #design

As the tower connects earth towards the sky, so we interact with the street and towards the park, we developed the row house, double facade theme. Located in Sevilla, it plays with the congested street and the tranquillity of the park, developing itself as a safe and private path involving water and light. While moving to the park side light gets more intense. Patio is used for thermal regulation: a curved glass and a cascade make possible else inconceivable tricks of light, here is a filter for purification, metaphor of the path. Hot climate is mitigated by water and stack effect granted by the shape of patio. Energy is like a side effect, a fullfillment of a nature-building ensemble.

3 Urban Corticella

Bologna - Italy

June 2011 Third year - 5 months group project Architecture and Project Studio 2 Urban regeneration processes Urban Scale - Building scale #Housing #Line #Typology #Urban Park #Regeneration #Densification #water #green Project aim is towards urban regeneration and densification of Bologna’s outskirts, through conversion of the abandoned industrial area into a green park, and solutions for new housing. We granted the lively park of Corticella an extension toward the Navile canal and we blend public and private green spaces with line typology buildings to reach densification purposes. Social life is the funding spirit of living in the new urban Corticella, vegetable gardens for elders, a new neighborhood library and the park are joint together with water.

Urban park

West extension of the green spaces and promenade towards the Navile canal

Green & urban paths

Creating a pedestrian urban boulevard and a synergic green path

Density

New housings, line typology answering the demandings and inhabitating the green context

Social Cohesion

A new aggregative pole, a library, a greenhouse and vegetable gardens for elders.

Simone Viani | 7-8

The building exhibit itself as an interface between street and park, it has straight lines on the street side and curvy ones towards the park. Tone changes as a consequence with terraces and narrow openings which allow to live the urban life, wider and brighter windows, floor to ceiling height, to watch the park life and perceive the water of lake Corticella, enhanced duplicity of the project. Every apartment has a prospect in both of the sides, every room with a view. We studied a modular system of spaces and apartments. Ground floor shops are the key to rebuild an urban street full of life and people. The other floors show a large variety of sizes and functional choices of apartments. From studio 35 square metres for students to 120 sm duplex for large families

Project is set in the inner historical centre of Bologna, the area is called “Manifattura delle Arti manufacture of arts, due to the strong presence of cultural buildings and lots of departments of the Art Discipline university (DAMS) and the memory of the old Manifattura Tabacchi, destroyed during ww2, located in the park left empty space. Analysis shows the presence of both bricks and plaster facades,

The pedestrian setting of the area and the amount of parking opportunities made us design the placement and the size of the student house. Analizing with mor emphasys the history, we got to the Bologna’s public archive and discovered that the confluence of historical buildings is strong.

With the use of a BIM software we brought to life the concept, obtaining a 200 bed student dorm set on 3 floors We got the student houses to detail scale, defining its steel structure, basements, walls, furnishings, MEP design. Project has also been engineerized and studied in the Construction process course and set up for the construction. It has been quoted of a 4’000’000 € total cost, and a building time of 13 months. Moreover, thanks to the bim process, we run a thermal analysis and design, to grant project’s great sustainability and efficiency.

Palazzo dei Notai

July 2013 5th accademic year - 9 months group project with Selena Grande, Martina Fabbri, Gloria Cagali Restauration Project - Exposition on the historical architect Alfonso Rubbiani Building scale - Furnishing scale #Historical #restauration #renovation #exposition #preservation #memory

Concentrating Alfonso Rubbiani’s works in one room, is like joining all the buildings he renovated in one place, that was the idea of having a plan of bologna historical centre in the hall of his most central palace, palazzo dei Notai (notaries). It’s a shame that this room, facing the wonderful Piazza Maggiore, is left empty and in a state of decay, so we filled it in with the path of this museum. From silk-screen printed glasses, to structures that recalls brick facades,

View is stuck, and the flowing water of the Garonne is an unseen threat and both will be a relief to the daily routine of the neighborhood with his promenade. The call of the nature is far away and public geen spaces are a dream of the inhabitants, interviewing one of them we had an answer: “you should build a forest in here”. So how about building a forest of tree houses? With a vivid groundcover and all the beauty of the nature on the top here is the answer. A generous green space is given to the area, the view to the city and the water is back, inhabitants are safe from the overflowing of the river, it’s like a Noah’s ark, life is all that matters, architecture contrasts organic nature and all responds to the spatial relationships with the urban project for Bordeaux Euratlantique. Urban Plan: starting with the preexisting houses, within 4 phases urban tissue is reconstructed, obtaining green spaces, ground floor shop spaces, offices and services, and keeping the existing wine industry. On the top of the roof garden hosting a park are the dwellings. Building Plan: The architecture school is the place where old meets new. The ramp is the school library, books, multimedia and studying spots , it connects lower level with upper one and new built with old houses, re-used as the cafeteria and for some lecture hall. Central foyer hosts stairways and more vertical field of view, every open and circulation space on the foyer is usable for workshops and group working. On the second ground floor are bigger lecture halls and laboratory halls.

We worked in collaboration with Comune di Bologna and CINECA for the entry of the World Heritage Site listing by UNESCO, the final purpose is to have an extended immersive and geolocalized 3D model to enhance the preservation of this historical beauty. During the five months of the course we did surveying, 3D modeling, rendering, light analysis, animation for the exam of Virtual Modeling for Architecture on the purpose to learn and master these tecniques and as part of this more extended project. The course had the objective to design and calculate a steel structured industrial hangar and a concrete residential building. The aim was to study engineering and calculus methods. I also built a parametric calculus software for both structures with Microsoft excel using Italian norm NTC 2008 and the european Eurocode. Structure was furthermore designed in Revit Structure and analyzed in Robot Structural Analysis
