HELPS WITH DAILY FOCUS
The gist: If you find it difficult to focus, Forest is the app for you. It works as both a timer and a game with the mission of motivating you to dive into your work. When you really need to complete a task, open the app and plant a seed. While you work, a tree will grow. If you give in to distractions and leave the app early, your tree will die. By using the app often you will be able to create your own forest. The idea is that by seeing this forest grow as you complete tasks, you will feel motivated to keep going. You won’t be as tempted to quit if you know the result of losing focus is your tree withering away. The app partners with Trees for the Future to plant trees in the real world. Users earn virtual coins they can spend, which allows donations to be made. So far, over one million real trees have been planted thanks to Forest’s users. In order to download Forest you will have to spend $1.99. Paying a small fee to download the app isn’t a bad thing, though, as it will likely motivate you to use it more.
