Chris Bradford brought his knowledge of floor coverings to life in 1998 after seeing the need for area rugs exploding as hardwood floors took over most of the square footage of every new home being built. He also noticed the lack of selection and knowledge in the area rug category.

“I grew up helping my dad in his custom rug manufacturing shop,” explains Bradford. “My wife Christy joined me in the business eight years ago after a successful career in mortgage banking, and is now key to our continued success.”

Bradford notes that luxury vinyl plank flooring is trending. It is waterproof, and he explains that it looks more like real wood than ever. KC Wholesale Carpet offers LVP in marble, tile, and stained concrete looks in addition to the wood grain or wood floor looks. Also, water-

“We don’t run sales because we’re wholesale every day to everyone,” Bradford smiles. “We never cut service or quality, and can serve you on a carryout basis at wholesale. Or we can be full service, offering measure and installation—also on a wholesale basis.”

Bradford says they are unique in that the same staff that work the flooring also work the area rug business. “We are two separate businesses. Area Rug Dimensions is for rugs, runners, and anything requiring a finished, bound edge. And KC Wholesale Carpet sells all types of flooring. The fact that the salespeople work full-time in both businesses allows for crossover expertise you won’t find anywhere else.”

Bradford recommends when choosing a floor covering to see it in person. This is the best way to get a feel for what you want to own and to choose the right color, texture, and style. Looking at it on the internet may not give you the right perspective. He understands that most people have not purchased flooring lately and find that it is typically more expensive than they anticipated.

“Between supply and demand, freight cost, and inflation, prices are on the rise,” he explains. “I’d buy sooner rather than later, because prices are not going down anytime soon.”
