45 YEARS OF PASSION AND COMMITMENT

Since 1977 my journey began for me to become the professional I am today in the flooring industry.

At the age of 15 my first job was to keep our warehouse, showroom neat and orderly. I was a very observant young man, I watched how my role models strategized until they found there niche. Things came and changed quickly for me there from keeping supplies stocked, to inventory, and promotion to warehouse management by the age of 18.

A lot of great lessons was absorbed such as leaning professional phone etiquette, reading-blue prints, and geophysical maps. My first sale was to the church I attended, I don’t recall how I even got an appointment with our pastor at the age of 16. Nor do I remember if the deal was done on a handshake, or my boss when back and measured or wrote the contract. I do remember I walked about ¾” of a mile from our store with some very heavy samples.

I knew I always wanted to manage or own a business, so in the summer of 1989 I started Browns Measuring Service. I was proud to become an entrepreneur, and to sign some nationally known and well established clients. In the spring 2004 I opened up a store in Glenn Dale Maryland, and obtained (MBE) Minority Business Enterprise certificate. We sold products and services to property managers, general contractor, and government facilities, etc.

38 years of work in the industry I have served many sector. My biggest joy of all has been watching our flooring industry tremendous growth
