WHY DEMAND A HIGHER STANDARD?
A new classification is now being launched for the energy and efficiency values of air filters. It is called the Energy Efficiency Classification and it classifies filters from A to G, where "A" stands for the lowest energy consumption and "G" for the highest. The classification is based on the European test standard EN779:2012, which requires an F7 filter to have a cleaning efficiency of at least 35% for 0.4 µm particles.
There are several reasons for setting high requirements for the air in your building. Studies have shown that people who work in premises with a high IAQ (Indoor Air Quality) feel better than others do in many other workplaces. They feel more alert, healthier and increase their productivity by up to 10%.
At Camfil Farr, we don't think this is a sufficiently high standard. For example, our Hi-Flo XLT7 filter is not just A-classed but also has a cleaning efficiency as high as 54%. This gives a result that is more than 50% better than demanded by the standard. So don't do like Stan and make do with the standard requirement – always take an extra look at the cleaning efficiency. It is this that really determines the air quality you will obtain at the end of the day.
Thanks to a cleaner air environment, companies can both have less sick leave and higher productivity among their staff. Read more about why clean air pays, on camfil.co.uk
