Spend an evening feasting on the local flavours that the islands have to offer with a quintessentially Tresco Tapas night at The Flying Boat. Watch the sun set behind Bryher with a drink in hand and a plethora of plates in front of you. From produce grown in Tresco Abbey Garden to delicious seafood straight from the sea to plate - as well as a cocktail on arrival using island spirits such as Westward Farm Gin and SC Dogs Rum - it is not an evening to be missed.

Friday 15th Sept SALAKEE FARM ‘FIELD TO FORK’ LUNCH

A farm tour and talk, followed by ‘no-dig’ veggie lunch.

A wonderful opener to this year’s programme, join Salakee Farm, a beautiful 35-acre holding on St. Mary’s, for a look into where our food comes from. Farmers Kylie Carter and Dave Mumford have been repairing the land’s degraded soils since taking it on in 2014, Dave being the third generation to work the land at Salakee. They proudly grow nutrient-dense produce in a regenerative way for the island community. Amble up to the bucolic pastures and roam the tree plantings, polytunnels and no-dig beds with Dave, Kylie and Salakee market gardener Cushla - learning about the importance of regenerative farming, followed by harvesting, preparing and enjoying a farm-grown feast!

Sunday 17th Sept RUPERT COOPER AT THE MERMAID

A slipway BBQ at the legendary Mermaid Inn, celebrating the Rugby World Cup on St. Mary’s.

In keeping with the World Cup, warm up for the England Vs Japan match as Rupert collaborates with one of Scilly’s favourite watering holes - The Mermaid Inn. An ex-professional rugby player, Rupert will be rustling up another open-fire cookout of island-grown produce on the slipway of The Mermaid, before the match is shown in the pub. Cornish Chef Rupert brings his outdoor cooking skills to Porthmellon Beach.

Join us for a Summer Beach BBQ with Cornish chef Rupert Cooper, owner of Philleigh Way Cookery School on the Roseland and The Cove Café at Hayle Beach. Fresh from his starring roles at the Porthleven and St Ives Food Festivals, Rupert will be bringing his outdoor culinary skills to the islands; known for his big-flavoured, smokey, wood-fired dishes using only fresh, seasonal produce, Rupert will be cooking up juicy meats with punchy sauces, grilled veggies, crispy wedges and bountiful bowls of locally sourced salads. Oz Clarke joins Robert Francis owner of Star Castle Hotel and HolyVale Vineyard for a glass of wine & conversation.

A special collaboration between two experts in their field and long-time lovers of wine. One of the most iconic and best-known names in the industry, wine connoisseur Oz Clarke will be jointly hosting an afternoon of conversation, reflecting on his career and ‘his life in wine’. Robert Francis who acquired the vineyard over ten years ago, will recount life on Scilly, growing grapes and producing fine wines on these remote islands, on the most south-westerly vineyard in the UK.

Best known for his outdoor cooking, affinity for wild food foraging and his easy, natural approach to local, seasonal produce, James has created a menu of ‘Strawbridge Specials’ for one day only! Featuring hyper-local ingredients, dishes will weave in an abundance of local produce and options will include mussels, beef, lobster and a veggie option all cooked over fire on the terrace, with far-reaching views across the Eastern Isles and St. Mary’s.
