From shimmering sequins to liquid metallics, there are plenty of options. Mix and match to put together your own fun looks. When layering metallics, throw out that old rule about mixing gold and silver. The modern metallic isn’t afraid to layer on the gold, bronze or silver. What made you start with creating for The Sims games and how long ago did you started creating?

I have been creating for 6 years. I started with creating out of curiosity. When I played some with a few clothes which I downloaded, I wondered how it was made. Especially the mesh. And as I said before I really like to learn new stuff. Do you also play The Sims 3 or do you mostly create? I do mostly create. I don’t have much time to play, but when I buy a new expansion pack or a stuff pack, I play a bit to have a quick look at what’s new. Sometimes when I’m a bit bored with real life, I play. It’s a great way to run away from stress. I don’t have the Paradise EP yet, but I’m soon going to buy it. I think it will be my favorite expansion pack.

I never know where new inspiration will be coming from. It can be simply from seeing some pictures or looking at real costumes, but I will always give it my own touch. Sometimes I get inspiration when I’m dreaming, those are sweet dreams. Sometimes there is no inspiration at all to create, but when I start to create the inspiration will suddenly come back.

What is your own fashion style? Are you a jeans and T-shirt type or do you follow the latest fashion? I don’t follow the latest fashion. I love comfortable clothing and I usually prefer to wear jeans and a T-shirt. And I like maxi skirts and chiffon dresses. I can’t imagine living without those. Tell us about your dreams, what does an ideal day look like for you? I really enjoy warm summer days. I like to wake up very early and take a long walk on the beach. ESCAPE INTO THE DECADENT WORLD OF LOVE, DARKNESS, & ROMANCE WITH VICTORIAN DREAMS - FASHION THAT REDEFINES GOTH. Gothic fashion is a clothing style marked by conspicuously dark, mysterious, exotic, and complex features. And whether you choose to embrace the look fully or simply dabble, TSR has you covered. With the selection of simply to-die-for gowns presented here, featured creators chose to highlight the romantic, classic and undying style of handmade steel boned corsets and tightly bound waist cinchers all artfully intertwined with deeply rich colors and ornately detailed fabrics. Styled along with a few ornate jewelry pieces, the looks pictured here are of true Neo-Gothic perfection.

In fact, we guarantee that your Sim won’t be able to resist the calling of their dark soul’s thirst for these beautifully crafted pieces… the sensual sophistication, the mysterious allure is simply too overwhelming to ignore. So go ahead and lose yourself in the fantasy of it all. Embrace it. After all, is that not what the life of a Sim is all about?

OUT OF THIS WORLD BECAUSE BEAUTY IS EVERYWHERE!

Who said you can’t wear a bold lip with a bold eye shadow…well, in the Sims 3, we sure as heck can. And in our debut fantasy makeup editorial, we showcase just that! As a rule, makeup is all about balance. When going for a bold eye shadow look, usually one would opt for a more toned down lip color and vice versa. But then again…rules are made to be broken. Hold on though…there are still rules to be followed here. To prevent your look from becoming too overwhelming and on the verge of “crazy” you must still call on your old friend, balance. In this case, to balance out your bolder eyes you should try playing around and

mixing up your textures. For instance, if your shadow is matte, opt for a more glossy lip, and vice versa. Have a play around, you would be surprised at what really works at times – Another joy of practicing on your Sim…experimentation! Makeup is supposed to be fun afterall. And remember, bold can be beautiful, as long as there is still a sense of harmony in what you do.

holiday cheer should be EVERYWHERE!

Nowadays, decorating for the holidays goes beyond putting up the tree, and hanging a few Christmas ornaments and decorating the mantle. It’s about infusing your home with the “spirit” of the holidays - one room at a time. Once we start taking down those decorations from the attics and out of their neatly tucked away hideouts, it’s important that we remember that Christmas remains on the most special time of the year, where many of us get to spend the most time with the ones we love and that most of that time together, is often spent around the dining table. So why not opt for making that part of your home part of your holiday decor plans as well.

architectural feature

When it comes to making your home beautiful for the holidays, there is no shortage of ways to turning your home into a true holiday delight. In fact, the Christmas holiday is the perfect time to let your creativity shine. With this room, we opted for a more elegant and sophisticated style. We started off by introducing transparency and translucency with the use of our glassware. Whether you decide to opt for traditional cut crystal or more vintage colour-washed glassware, it’s important to have as many as you can on the table to create a more glamourous and yet simple focal point in the room. Don’t be afraid to layer it all on. In fact, this would be the perfect occasion to break out the wedding

china that you have had stashed away for that “special” occasion. Another simple way to achieve that sophisticated look is by choosing a less traditional color palette - like red and green - and instead opt for something a little more subtle and elegant like gold and creams. You can easily carry out the theme throughout the room by introducing decor elements such as decorative balls, candelabra, urns and vases, ribbons and some natural greenery. In fact, you can even go all out and install a However you decide to go, always keep in mind that although holiday decor can sometimes be daunting it can be a great occasion to allow your whimsical side to escape. Along with the fabulous food treats, the table should offer good cheer and panache.

A Holiday Feast - ival! Holiday cooking is both a pleasure and an added stress! Preparing for the holidays means spending a lot of time in the kitchen. For most, holiday cooking is both a pleasure and an added stress especially when you’re new at it, - I mean really, we can’t all be perfect chefs no matter how awesome of an app we downloaded. Unfortunately, however, the holidays just aren’t complete without the tasty eats and treats that come out of the kitchen. - so we all have no choice but to trudge along and get it all down, on time...and from our holiday dress and look fabulous!

Christmases past like the smell of freshly baked gingerbread cookies, and the spicy aroma of the Christmas ham roasting lazily in the oven. With all the stirring, dicing and rolling usually going on in our kitchens, it’s quite easy for us to long for a helping hand, whether it be that new whats-a-ma-hoozits we saw on t.v. or Mom’s voice on the other end of the phone, steadily guiding us through the paces. THE CHRISTMAS

COTTAGE A HOME AWAY FROM HOME!

the stress of the holidays upon us, many of our Sims are longing for that quiet escape that only the countryside can provide. So naturally, a country cottage tucked deep into Appaloosa Plains starts looking really good. Now we aren’t talking about your drafty old log cabins here, - heck no - we are talking about those warm and cozy cottages - you know, those that remind us to grab a book, maybe even a glass of Yeahhhh… This issue’s architectural feature offers

your longing Sim just that. The Christmas Cottage by Fredbrenny is a beautifully decorated 30 X 30 lot cottage which features two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a beautiful kitchen/dining room, a living room place and much more. The interior of the home is decorated in a cottage style – meant to be lived in, to be enjoyed. It even looks as if it was the recipient of all the cast-offs from the real home, which makes it even cozier. Despite its “recycled” feel, however, the home has an overall effect of charm and comfort.

51.

“ EMBRACE THE WINTER SEASON AND RETREAT TO A RUSTIC COTTAGE THIS SEASON. “

The mix of fabrics used within the home’s interior coordinates a variety of prints which pull together successfully, creating a cohesive and collected look. Warm earth tones abound. This works well with the rustic style and rough-hewn furniture that is placed expertly throughout the home. Except for the thankfully left bare, adding even further interest to the build. The home’s exterior is just as remarkable. The stone façade blends with dark wood details. The property is equipped with lots of greenery, which adds even more charm to the build…nothing like looking out of your window at snow covered trees.

IN THE SHOWROOM SHINO & KCR

We had a chance to catch up to KCR of the Team Shino & KCR. Long time Featured Artists at TSR their style is a wonderful mix of old Hollywood glamour and some modern bits thrown in. Choosing Shino & KCR designs can have your simmies living in style.

Hello KCR! Tell us a bit about yourself.

58.

I live in Munich Germany in is very involved in my life. I am 68 Years old and I’m having fun with my Computer - I love to create for Sims.

Wow that’s impressive. Goes to show you that The Sims can be enjoyed by all ages! What inspired you and Shino to create for the Sims Community?

CC CREATOR EXCLUSIVE: INTERIOR DESIGN With The Sims 2 it was like we were missing so many things for the game. So I went to Shino and asked him if he was willing to help me learn 3d modeling and texturing. And he did!

He seems a great teacher! So as most creators you seem to have played the game quite a bit. What we’d like to know is what do you enjoy about Sims? I love to decorate Lots – that’s my favorite thing about Sims. I look for plenty of pictures with furniture. I often see one piece and build a set around it in the same style.

It must be hard to say when you’re done in that case. Designing would be endless! So how do you know when a set is done? What makes you look at your set and say “That’s it I have it!”? Well I have in mind what someone would like to have in a certain room, I build it and that ends the set for me.

Creating Sims objects must be an absolute challenge to get them just right. What would you say some of the challenges are in creating? I’m a detail lover and often I go and have to the model but often with texturing. It has to go together without making the polygon count too high for the Sims 3 Game. This can slow a user’s game if the creator doesn’t be responsible about this. “ READ LOTS OF TUTORIALS BEFORE YOU EVEN THINK TO START CREATING A SET “ - KCR

Interior Design FEATURE

This must take loads of time creating for Sims 3. So how long does it take you to get that perfect room you are creating? When I do furniture I prefer the Glassmania or Men’s Bedroom. It takes me a day to create a single object for let’s say everyday for a week. When the end of the set is in my mind I can make more Items in one day - because I have the concept for textures and so on.

would like to create in the Sims community? from just creating 3dmodels. You have to be very creative to handle the low polygon count available and you should know taking it slow and reading. Practice.

Thank you very much, KCR, for talking with us today. We are looking forward to seeing more of your wonderful sets in the future.

CHIC TRIBAL

DESIGN

Think billowing breezes wafting through the African plain skyline with the burning of the plain grasses come along with that whoosh sound of the African winds. As you watch the sun set slowly behind the grasses with its oranges, reds, and of slumber beneath the wild calls of the nocturnal sounds of the African night. When thinking about design it’s most important to think about the lines of the room and colors you choose. The muted tones of autumn colors make this room look warm and inviting. Slumber will come easily and a good night’s rest assured with this bed fashioned that air of being covered in a smooth African nightly breeze.

Once you’ve decided to embark upon the quest to create an African/ tribal inspired room, the world Start off by doing some research, there are many different regions and countries to draw your inspiration from. In fact, you can easily draw inspiration from the entire continent. Because of its diversity and endless variety of cultures, design, colors, shapes and patterns, the possibilities become endless. Africa offers an unsurpassed richness, depth and bold nature that will appeal to the most adventurous at heart.

63.

We move on to the pillows by DT456 that have been redesigned in the muted soft browns and African designs bringing in the comfort and complimenting the bed with the throw by Pilar for those cooler African nights. The dresser and side table by Pilar are that of an African match to the bed with the same etchings as the headboard. They bring in even more air of African Prowess with that hint of rustic style. We took the lighting from Pilar’s Nairobi set because it ambience. To make sure we made the room with fashionable aspects we used a few baubles from here and there. You’ll notice the wall decorations taboo ongoing theme. The basket look and feel stylizes the wall above the bed giving us that rustic upscale atmosphere. Décor is everything and we made sure our room had the appropriate décor for the African feel. On the end table in the corner you’ll see the Orinoko Small Heron. Small and delicate it sits beside the Orinoko Books all by Gosik. They scream sophistication and add to the room’s mood. ringed Tacitum Vase by SIMcredible! strategically placed on the dresser as a beautiful adornment. The mirror above the dresser by Pilar in the Nairobi Collection adds more of the rustic African approach we wanted to make this room emit. If you scan to the front of the bed you’ll see the ottomans by Falko already colored to match our needs from the Almateo Collection. The comfortable design brings together the effort we have made to make this room inviting. Under the bed we move to the Rug by wondymoon, part of the Priza Relaxation Corner. The sounds of Africa are now in full nocturnal swing as you slowly, but peacefully, drift to sleep in your upscale yet rustic African Design.

Ethnic CHIC “ Punchy warm colors, bold ethnic patterns, and an eclectic collection of tribal accessories meld perfectly with mainstay modern architecture and classic modern furniture design helping to create this Tribal African Aesthetic. However, there are no real true hard and fast rules in this type of ethnic chic decorating. As long as there is a cohesive feel or theme involved, such as color, texture or place, you can have fun and decorate to your heart’s content! In fact, you can fill your entire home with treasures collected from your travels.
