How to behave near the corals?
Observation of cetaceans:
• Do not walk or step on the corals, this could kill their living polips, which conform the reef structure • Do not touch, pick up, or hold any of the reef inhabitants
Humpback whale watching season: southern populations (from August to December) and Northern populations (from December to March). The dolphin populations are resident, so it is usual to see them more often. Turtle watching and nesting in our beaches from July to December.

How to behave in the boats near the whales
Natural formation created by the convergence of two currents. Snorkeling and freediving are allowed, however, the use of swimming fins is not, unless the tide is low.

• When you approach the whales make sure to remain visible. Always approach them by a side, never by the front or rear. • Remain at a safe distance of 100m (around 100 yds) from the whales.

Una experiencia marina inolvidable
Observación de cetáceos
-Muévase a la misma velocidad y en la misma dirección que las ballenas y evite cambios repentinos en la velocidad o dirección. -Mantenga mínimo el nivel de ruido y no permanezca más de 30 minutos en el área de las ballenas. -Por favor reporten a los operadores de turismo que no cumplen con lo establecido.
¿Cómo comportarse cerca de los corales?
Temporadas de avistamientos de ballena jorobada: Poblaciones del sur (de agosto a diciembre), poblaciones del norte (de diciembre a marzo). Las poblaciones de delfines son residentes por lo que es habitual observarlos con mayor frecuencia. Avistamiento de tortugas y anidación en nuestras playas de julio a diciembre.
• No camine ni se pare encima de los corales, esto puede matar los pólipos vivos de los corales quienes son los que construyen la estructura del arrecife. •No toque, recoja o sostenga ningún habitante del arrecife.

Se cuenta con 15km de playa y 4 sectores de ingreso oficial; Uvita, Ballena, Piñuela y Colonia. Consultar por las mareas y corrientes. El sector de Colonia está catalogado como uno de las mejores playas para aprender a surfear.

Cómo comportarse en los botes cerca de las ballenas
Formación natural que se forma por la convergencia de dos corrientes. Se puede realizar snorkeling o buceo a pulmón. El uso de patas de rana no son permitidas, solamente se puede realizar durante la marea baja.

-Cuando se acerque a las ballenas, manténgase visible acercándose siempre por un costado de las mismas, y nunca por el frente ni por detrás. -Manténgase a una distancia prudente de 100 metros de las ballenas.
