TIM THE LITTLE FOREST RANGER
Jan Paul Schutten and Emanuel WiemansA delightful picture book full of short stories—perfect for bedtime!
MORE THAN 10.000 COPIES SOLD!
Tim’s dad is a forest ranger. He’s taught Tim all about the forest and the animals that live in it. When Tim gets a real forest ranger uniform and a ‘Turbo trapper’ for his birthday, he becomes a real forest ranger just like his dad. There are all kinds of things to do in the forest—like building forts and stomping in puddles. But will Tim be able to help an injured jackdaw get back on its feet? Luckily he can count on the help of his friend Tippi, who might want to become a forest ranger too.
Jan Paul Schutten knows ‘the real’ Ranger Tim. They spent hours walking through the forest and heath together, and Tim shared all kinds of stories from his job as a forest ranger. He also told Jan Paul how he used to stomp in puddles as a kid, how he always dreamed of becoming a ranger, and how he made friends with Hansie the jackdaw. These stories are the inspiration behind the adventures of Tim the Little Forest Ranger.

BORIS BAT
Susanne Roos and Aniek Bartels
The most delightful picture book pal of the year!
This is Boris. Boris Bat. He loves to eat mosquitos. If you ask him, there’s nothing better than a delicious mosquito cookie. He’s got incredible ears, razor-sharp teeth and is a champion flyer.
Did you know that a scale can be a trampoline? How much does a joke weigh anyway? Or friendship? And what do you do when you’re the only creature in the whole forest that hibernates in the winter?
This first book contains three original stories about Boris Bat and his friends. And sometimes the charming bat needs a little help from his readers: turn the book upside down, give it a shake and help Boris find his way. You might even want to do a little hanging upside down yourself. Because there’s always more to see and sometimes the world is just a little brighter from a different angle.
Susanne Roos is a theatre maker, dreamer and writer. Together with Jaap Robben, she tours the Netherlands and Belgium with their theatre company, Fien. She lives with her family on an old farm in Germany and enjoys working on the house. Previous books include The Kid’s Book of Forts.
Aniek Bartels is an illustrator and designer from Hilversum. She enjoys making everyday objects a little more fun. From clothes and stationery to packaging and cards—if you ask her, everything can use a little more colour and design. Her drawings have been used by Hema, Flow Magazine and Babboe.

Travel to Curaçao in this eerie island story
Our country’s flag billows in the wind from early Monday morning until Friday afternoon—blue for the sea and sky, yellow for the sun and sand, stars for the two islands.
The four brothers DeeJay, JayDean, Fenchi and Tonchi are growing up in Curaçao. After school, they explore the mondi, the wild backcountry full of secrets. There’s an abandoned house out there. People say it’s home to a bruado, a witch. And there’s definitely something strange about it. The wind doesn’t blow around it, and there’s an inexplicable puddle of water in front of the door. And what’s that giant bulbous thing in the manzanilla tree out front? Some kind of nest?
When the boys’ parents decide to move to the Netherlands, Tonchi and his brothers are so frustrated that they smash the nest out of the tree. Soon they’ll wish they hadn’t. Will the brothers be safe in Holland or…?

FLASH AND THE ROOSTER HOTEL
Lotje van der Bie and Roos Pulskens
What do you do with seventeen crowing roosters when your neighbour wants to turn them into soup?
Flash is a lightning-quick inventor who’s always got a brilliant solution for every problem that comes up. And that’s a good thing, because his new neighbour, Mrs. Boenders, is creating all kinds of problems. Mrs. Boenders doesn’t like things that crow. She also doesn’t like stuff that washes up in the river—she calls it junk. And Flash’s garden is full of it because his dad needs it for his art… Having Mrs. Boenders as a neighbour makes for plenty of challenges—and also plenty of ingenious solutions. But Flash is always in a hurry and tends to overlook certain details, which means that not everything goes as smoothly as planned. Will Flash be able to keep his seventeen roosters?
— A witty debut about roosters (for people who love them and people who hate them)
Comes with a fun bookmark ruler
Full of detailed drawings of Flash’s inventions
Lotje van der Bie doesn’t collect roosters, but she does collect other kinds of animals. Formerly an actress in the hit comedy series Oppassen!!!, she’s proud to have published her first children’s book. For this book, she photographed Flash’s seventeen roosters and, of course, her own chickens as well.
Roos Pulskens usually only draws buildings for her work. But for her cousin’s first book she was willing to make an exception. Who wouldn’t want to create drawings of Flash’s brilliant inventions?

ENZO AND THE BATTLE AGAINST THE ONIS
Thomas van Luyn and Sophie PluimMagical debut by comedian Thomas van Luyn
One day, Enzo receives a mysterious box in the mail. It’s made of a coppery metal and is about the size of a large eraser. When his cheeky friend Kira spins the little wheel for the first time, they discover that it’s actually some kind of zippo lighter, and it gives him a strange feeling.
It turns out that the lighter can send him to different rooftops in the city, which gets him into more trouble than he’d like. This is how he accidentally ends up in the house of his horrible teacher, Mr. Harry, and how he meets Ken, a boy standing on a roof with a cape, a stick and green rain boots.
Ken tells him that he’s hunting Onis—evil spirits that swoop into people’s houses and make them do bad things. Before Enzo knows it, he and his special lighter find themselves in a battle against the Onis. But how do you win a war against evil spirits when all you’ve got is a blanket for a cape and two friends who have no idea what they’re doing either?
