Personal Statement This portfolio is a reflection of me as a designer and as a person. It holds what inspires me and what drives my passions. Since I was a kid, I have loved to draw and haven’t stopped. I draw something everyday. Sometimes it’s for a class and sometime it’s just quick sketches on the side of my notes. I’m just Disney and Marvel fan, and Comic Book Geek who wants to work for Disney as a Imagineer and create art for the rest of my life.

Personal Brand Brand Identity
My brand identity was inspired by the retro comic book style and my love of the Marvel Comics. Everything contains the comic book dots, which is consistent with the retro comic look. Just like superheroes have a symbol that they are remembered by, artist and designers have their own mark to be remembered by.

Ghibli Museum Brand Identity
Ghibli Museum
This is the re-branding of The Ghibli Museum. The Ghibli Museum is a one of a kind. It is place where people can explore the world of Studio Ghibli. It’s a place of wonder and joy and where the soul can relax. It’s a museum the makes you feel more enriched when you leave then when you First entered. I wanted to create a signature that has the
same feel as
the museum and the films it’s based off.
LOGO The Logo is the image of one of the most beloved Ghibli characters, Totoro from MY Neighbor Totoro. He is a Big, friendly forest spirit who is there to welcome you to the museum.
COLOR PALLET Red, White, and Black make up the color pallet for the museum’s signature.
Business Cards The front of the card has the logo of Totoro with the museums slogan under it. The back of the card has the museum’s Contact Information.
The illustration on the left side of the card is Mei following two little Totoro’s.
Ghibli Museum
Envelope and Letterhead Above is the envelope. The front contains the Logo and slogan. On the Back is the return address. The envelope Flap is red with the illustration of Mei and the little Totoros.
The Letterhead on the left has the logo at the top with the slogan. In the red column on the left in the Museum name and address. At the very bottom of the page is Mei and the little Totoros.
BUS
Pictograms These images are the symbols that one would Find on museum map or as the signage in a museum telling where everything is such as the restroom, or the gift shop, etc.

Environmental Signage (Above) These are the Lamppost Banners. Each contain the Totoro Logo and the slogan. But each show different characters from other Films Studio Ghibli has made such as Prince Mononoke, The Secret World of Arrietty, Howl’s Moving Castle, and Kiki’s Delivery Service. (Left) This is a Bus Stop Ad for the Museum. It contains the logo in the bottom right hand corner and shows a Kodama in the middle as part of the The Ghibli Forest Ad.
Ghibli Product I create a series of T-Shirts with iconic characters from the Studio Ghibli Films such as Princess Mononoke, My Neighbor Totoro, and Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind. All the shirts have the museum’s logo placed in the design. The tote bag is something you can get at the gift shop and can be used over and over again.
Catalogs and Website The catalogs have the same layout but the cover images change every month based on whatever the main topic or article is about. The website is a simple design that makes it easy to navigate and find the information one needs to find the museums hours, or order tickets online, and plan your trip. The main page has upcoming events and exhibits.
Mix Tape Cover ART
The goal of this project was to create a playlist or a mix tape, give it a title, and illustrate the cover art for it. The main focus is to illustrate the type; no typefaces of any kind. My playlist called Of Fandoms and Faith. I drew each letter of the title to represent a TV show or movie Fandoms that I follow. The word FAITH is drawn differently because it is so different from the Fandoms that is hard to see that they can be mixed together. I wanted to show them as two very different things.

The Final product was overlayed on a notebook paper and I added a few illustrations of the TARDIS, the sword in the stone, the Impala, and the Serenity, and a few other random drawings from my sketch book. Since this project started, I have listened to this playlist when working on other projects or when working on homework.
Illustrated Quote Illustrated Poster
The purpose of this project was to explore the illustrative potential of typography and the diverse approaches of contemporary illustration in graphic design. Pick a quote and create a poster with it. Illustrate some or all of the text using actual objects in a way that adds deeper meaning to the quote. No Computers needed.
I picked one of my favorite quotes for this poster. “I myself am made entirely of Flaws, stitched together with good intentions. - Augusten Burroughs
This poster is about 3 feet by 2 1/2 feet of black fabric. It took about 6 days to attach all of the letters made of various sewing materials and sew them on by hand.

Long Live Childhood Illustration
“I’M GOING HOME!”
I came up with this series to illustrate some of the stories from movies and books that I grew up with and that inspired my love of stories and art whether it was told through a book, or live action Film, or animation. It started with an quick sketch the I made and I just took off from there. I illustrated them in this minimalist sort of style that I have been playing with for the past year, showing the scene and characters with little detail as possible but it is still recognizable to the viewer.
The Women Of Marvel T-Shirts
This project originated from my love of Marvel comics and the Marvel Cinematic Universe. There is a serious lack of Female Superhero merchandise. The female characters are some of the best and they are always forgotten. And if there are any products, like T-shirts, the designs are terrible and would say something like “I love Superheroes” in pink letters. Pink and Superheroes don’t go together! So I decided to make my own.
Using Illustrator, I used the minimalist style I’ve been working with and an image trace of the image I’m using and overlay the image trace to fill in the missing details. I added a typeface the matched or was relatively close to the Film’s logo and added their names and a symbol of the group they are apart of. I’m far from done with this series, there are still plenty of Female Superheroes that I can still create designs for.
Jake's Tattoos Tattoo Design
Concept Art
First Draft
My brother, Jake asked me to create a tattoo for him that said “Hope”. But part of the H is a Green Depression Awareness Ribbon. Any other tattoo I’ve seen for this concept used a script font which I didn’t like at all. So I made the decision to use the Supernatural Knight font. I traced an image of a ribbon and Fit it so it matched the font and it came out great. My brother loves it and can’t wait to get this one for real.
The bear tattoo was my brother’s illustration. He asked me to add a pattern into it. I made the Chevron Zig Zag pattern in Illustrator and added it to the image trace of the bear. I incorporated my name and my brother’s name into the design on the bear’s feet.
The Great White Hart Illustration
When I First drew this, I was just going off of a rough description that my mom was telling me and my sister about the book she was reading (Take This Cup by Bodie and Brock Theone). I had started sketching out the deer and the antlers in blue pencil in Microsoft Fresh Paint. Then I used the digital watercolors in Fresh Paint but it didn’t look right so I switched to the digital oil paints.
My Characters Illustration
Every character in this section is of my own creation. These are some of the best ones from this past year. I’ve gotten inspiration for my characters from Marvel, Disney, Avatar the Last Airbender, Fullmetal Alchemist, and many others. One day I hope to create my own comic series.
