What are points?

Points are assigned per check-in Compare your points with friends on the leaderboard.

How are points given? Generally every check-in counts for 3 points Users have more than 20 things for which they can earn points. Some examples are: You’re the Mayor! (+3 points) You just became the mayor! (+5 points) You’re creeping on a friend’s mayorship turf! (+2 points) Friday, April 29, 2011

If you've been to a place more than anyone else you will be crowned the "The Mayor" of that place.

What are badges? Badges are earned by checking into various venues Some cities have city-specific badges that can only be earned in a specific city. Some badges are made for specific sponsors

What we can do with it Claim venues and set incentives - special offers and campaigns. Increase business to University stores and eateries. (Drago and Putnam) Encourage students to go to different places such as the library or SAAS by using campaigns. See examples of special offers on next two slides.
