There are many rivers in Shinagawa city because of the coast . Usually , the riverbank is either planted with grass or completely concrete to prevent the river from rising. However, edible Rapeseed flowers are planted on both sides of the banks of the Katsushima River , and there is a Rapeseed flowers festival every year . Rapeseed flowers are planted by the neighborhood committee.

Leek House was designed by architect Terubu Fujimori. As the name suggests, this edible leek is planted on the roof of the building. The building is located in Tokyo's machida, a undulating area, making the roof of the building and the road to the north basically at the same height. People walking on the road can easily see the leeks on the roof. This is a house that combines a greenhouse and a residence.The experimental home, built by students at Rotterdam University’s department of Applied Sciences led by architect Arjan Karssenberg, was constructed from recycled and recyclable materials. In order to keep heating and cooling requirements low, inside the greenhouses the walls are coated in loam stucco to act as a heat sink: the loam traps heat from sunlight during the day and releases it during the cooler evenings. This building completely integrates the greenhouse and the residence.The whole building is divided into three greenhouses, all of which are planted with different edible plants. GROING / CULTIVATION After these analyses, I gradually realized the concepts of "specialization" and "amateurization" of planting. "Specialization" means that cultivation requires high technology to operate. "Amateurization" means that you can use daily techniques to farm. I think there is an opposition between these two concepts in cities nowadays. For example, itoya in Ginza belongs to "specialization". High-tech soilless cultivation techniques are used to grow plants. As a result, farming has become a black box, a closed system. It makes people ignore the act of "farming". "University farming" is also in the same state. But in the case of "EDIBLE WAY", the act of "farming" has become "amateur", in other words, anyone can farm. "Specialization" focuses on the results of farming. "Amateurization" focuses on the process of farming. In the current cities, under the influence of consumerism, the "concept of specialization" is regarded more and more importantly. The "specialization" and "amateurization" of farming have been polarized. I think this is a problem. This is my thinking about "Non-binary" in cultivation.
