Y
Parts are the building blocks of an assembly. These individual parts were built with Autodesk Inventor. Starting
with
two-dimensional
drawings, through the process of pressing and pulling, extracting and subtracting, shelling, filleting and chamfering, I ended up with beautiful three-dimensional objects.

After building individual parts, I learned to build and assemble many parts into different assemblies. Each of these assemblies was done in Autodesk Inventor as well. It was an exciting experience to place each part with other parts and to see the assemblies came together. The ability of the software to animate the process of the assembly was really interesting.

The objective of this Reverse Engineering Team Project was to graphically rebuild an existing assembly. It involved choosing an existing assembly; disassembling; measuring and hand-sketching each part correctly; dimensioning; recording and reporting our progress to our instructor; building each part with Autodesk Inventor, and finally assembling all the parts with the same software. Each team member was responsible to build his or her own parts correctly so that they would fit with other parts built by other team members. Our team of five chose a tricycle, and completed the project within the assigned time.
