God in our Midst
annual report 2010-2011 Sioux Falls Seminary
President’s Report: Please keep praying for us. You joined
us in prayer last year, and we want you to continue. In 2010-11, at 9:00 a.m., 12 noon, and 3:00 p.m., Sioux Falls Seminary paused when a chime was struck on campus. We prayed three focused requests. We prayed for breakthroughs. Our recruiters have always worked hard and with clear consciences. In the last few years we held our own. Our Foundation staff phoned, visited, and sought lots of people to partner with us in ministry with their generosity. We stayed even with annual donations while increasing slowly overall giving. Then with our prayers we defined breakthroughs as God working in ways we couldn’t, asking for results that we could not claim except through dependence on the Lord. God in sovereignty has tipped student numbers up by 26% this fall. Most of the increase has come in the Sioux Falls region. Eight Omaha students started this fall in programs, but we see a larger potential of students that might make our home campus numbers seem small. We are at a tipping point there. We are praying for three times the ‘10 numbers. Pray with us.

Steady performance in annual support is encouraging, but we’ve also seen glimpses of a few possible breakthroughs. The best way to see God’s hand at work is to look back and thank him. We can’t say we’ve seen real breakthroughs, but in faith we look forward and keep asking God to work. Pray with us. We prayed for healing among our people after several years of tough decisions that hurt all of us. God brought healing. We pulled together to do the best with the resources available. Laughter and joy fill the building again. But health is a tenuous commodity, so we continue to pray. Pray with us. We prayed that the evil one would not gain any victories against us. Little, unexplained problems had surfaced to undermine our ministry. The advances experienced testify to the greatness of our God. We persist in this prayer that Satan would not gain a position against us. Join us in praying. God is working with our equipping ministry, and his face is smiling as we look back at what he has done. Join us at 9, 12, and 3 everyday to intercede with God on behalf of the important ministry of Sioux Falls Seminary.
