Community Development, Adult Education & Christian Service in Tvc.Tbibsbo!Bgsjdb! Do you have a burden for unreached people groups and are praying for church multiplication movements? Do you want to work alongside of African colleagues, working together in God’s great harvest fields? Do you want to hone cross-cultural leadership skills and help other Christian leaders to hone theirs? Do you want to use specialized skills in community development, adult education, or other Christian service to teach others to teach others? If so, we have much in common.

Religion: Animism or African Traditional religion serves as the basis for the worldview throughout Sub-Saharan Africa. Islam has a strong influence in many Sub-Saharan countries. Some say the church in Africa is a mile wide and an inch deep.

host both mosques and churches

Location: The Sahel, the large dry band underneath the Sahara from the east to the west coast of Africa, is home to millions of unreached people. World Team, alongside of African Christians and evangelists, is building relationships, living out the Gospel of Christ before them, and using professional skills or unique gifts or backgrounds to open doors of opportunity for deeper interaction. As a result of the consistent, selfless meeting of basic needs by dedicated evangelists, new believers are coming to faith in Jesus.

Language: Sub-Saharan countries vary in which European language they claim as their national language. World Team is working in countries where French, English, or a combination of the two is needed as a basis for communication on our teams. All African countries have at least one, and often several, trade languages. The trade language is necessary for shopping in the market, navigating buses and taxis, and renting housing. In addition, each tribe speaks in it’s own vernacular or heart language. Often this is entirely different from the regional trade language. The vernacular language of the particular tribe is the key for building relationships and communicating spiritual truth.

World Team

Community Development, Adult Education and Christian Service in Sub-Saharan Africa Opportunity: World Team offers a unique opportunity for nurses, doctors, veterinarians, literacy workers, auto mechanics, agriculturalists, water engineers, aquaculturalists, pastoral care workers, adult education teachers, pastors, and other specialized professionals to be a part of a church planting team. Though there is no guarantee that professional training or other expertise would be utilized in the same manner as in a typical job description in the West, our teams in Africa will be stretched in order to meet needs in challenging locations. For an example, even though a cup of cold water might suffice in a particular circumstance to begin to start a relationship, the AIDS educator might be given the opportunity to share the water and the water of life, only because of his/her ministry with AIDS. Strategy: World Team’s vision is to assist the existing national evangelists in Africa to plant reproducing churches among unreached people groups. This looks like something different in every location. In one area, the missionary may be pioneer church planting alongside national colleagues. In another, the missionary may be mentoring evangelists and national believers who are doing the pioneer church planting. Or perhaps he or she will be helping evangelists acquire skills that enable them to provide financially for their families while working in God’s harvest fields. World Team has a growing number of possible partners on various levels. In each case, we encourage missionaries to use their skills and abilities and to grow as leaders in order to display God’s love in practical ways. Multicultural Teams: Our team has members from North America, Europe and Africa, and we are recruiting others to join us. We are committed to work together with our teammates to see God glorified among African people groups.

World Team has a passion to partner with nationals so that churches will multiply among unreached peoples in Africa. We are looking for others who share our passion people to serve with the teams in Africa, to pray strategically, and to give sacrificially toward these purposes.
