SIPU International in central and Eastern europe SIPU International has since 1990 implemented a large number of Sida-financed assignments in Central and Eastern Europe in countries such as Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, Russia, Albania, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, the UN-administered territory of Kosovo, Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia, Tajikistan, Croatia, and Kyrgyzstan. Moreover, SIPU has carried out asssignments for the European Union’s Phare programme in Romania, Latvia, Lithuania, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Russia; for UNDP in Poland and Hungary; for DfiD, in the Baltic States; and for the World Bank in Hungary, Georgia, and the Ukraine. SIPU - the Swedish Institute for Public Administration - was established in 1979 as a Government agency providing training and consultancy services to the Swedish civil service. In 1992 the institute was privatised and transformed into a company group owned by its senior staff. In May 2007 SIPU International became a member of FCG International.
