Conduct for students means to be a Southern Illinois with faculty, partners, respect and using an educational process that supports learning and development.​

STUDENT SUPPORT AND ADVOCACY

Student Support and Advocacy is network of services and interventions coordinated by the Dean of Students Office to guide students through unexpected barriers and challenges that may impact their academic and personal wellbeing.

Services include:

 Case management

 Basic needs assistance and referrals

 Hardship assistance

CASE MANAGEMENT CARE REPORTS

Occasionally, members of our community find themselves or others in need of additional help and support. By sharing your concerns, you are helping support a safe and caring community. The purpose of a Care Report is to share concerns or worrying behavior about a student with the Dean of Students for them to review to see what, if any, steps should be taken.

CASE MANAGEMENT CARE REPORTS

Common referrals have included

 Mental health concerns such as depression and anxiety

 Suicide ideation

 Signs of housing insecurity/food insecurity

 Frequent absences from class

 Classroom disruptions

 Threatening/aggressive behavior

Additionally, the Dean of Students Office assists students facing the following concerns:

Medical Withdrawal process

Official university absence letters for extenuating life circumstances

Impartial guidance on how to navigate the academic grievance procedure

HEALTH SERVICE in the lower level of the Student Center (SSC) doctor’s office available on campus services included, for no additional when paying general student fees cost for procedures and medications Diagnostic laboratory and pharmacy on site Management of State Immunization mandate Ambassador for mandated health insurance  Call 618-650-2842 to schedule  siue.edu/health-service

State Immunization Requirements

MMR’s, Tdap, 2 historical DTP’s, Meningitis ACWY

Requirement must be met to prevent registration hold Upload immunization records directly student chart through Cougarcare.siue.edu

Mandated Health Insurance Program

 Required for all full-time students with oncampus classes

 Automatic charge to student account with registration

 Currently insured students must submit waiver request

 United Healthcare managed by Academic Health Plans siue.myahpcare.com
