Student Responsibility for Payment of Educational Services •  The Financial Agreement details the financial responsibility that students accept upon registration •  Available in CougarNet under “Student” and “Registration” •  Agreement must be accepted online each semester before registration •  Students are not relieved of their financial responsibility unless they officially withdraw from classes within the published deadlines for tuition and fee refunds


How Will I Receive My Bill? You will receive an eBill email notification •  Provides the payment due date •  Prompts you to view your updated bill at siue.edu/paymybill or in CougarNet

Check your account often! Amount due may change if: •  You add or drop classes •  Your aid does not pay or is reversed •  You have other activity on your account

Students can authorize parents or other third parties to receive the same eBill notification •  Visit siue.edu/bursar/bills for instructions or pick up instruction information from our table •  Friendly tip! Make sure your password is easy to remember


Don’t Get Dropped! To avoid being dropped from classes and to access University Services, you must be financially cleared. •  Your financial clearance status appears in CougarNet (updated nightly) •  “Not Cleared” means take action: make the minimum payment or have

enough financial aid available to pay your entire balance •  “Cleared” means you are officially enrolled and will not be dropped

How does financial aid affect my bill and financial clearance? •  Financial aid pays toward current semester charges •  Unless financial aid covers the entire balance, a payment will be required by the first installment due date Financial clearance does not mean your account is paid in full; it means you have made the minimum payment to be officially enrolled and will not have your classes dropped.


How Do I Make My Payment? Pay your bill online at siue.edu/paymybill. Online payments must be completed before 4:30 p.m. CST on the payment due date. Pay online •  eCheck – no service fee •  Credit Card – 2.75% service fee Pay by mail – checks only Pay in person – cash or check Optional Installment Plan •  $30 charge per semester •  First installment payment secures registration If the first payment is late or missed, student will be dropped from classes.
