Sexual Assault Prevention – Required Education Program “Not Anymore” • Interactive online program • Designed to prevent sexual assault, dating and domestic violence, and stalking All students, faculty and staff are required to complete online training each academic year

Registration holds will be placed for students who do not complete training by the deadline

It’s On Us • Peer education in prevention and bystander intervention • Course (one credit-hour) available in peer education • In-class education on gender-based violence provides guest speakers for on-campus classes • Faculty and staff training on gender-based violence focuses on the neurobiology of trauma, and how to provide trauma-informed care

University Police Escort Service • Police will escort students, faculty and staff from one campus location to another or to a car in a campus parking lot • Individuals who feel apprehensive about walking alone on campus should call for an escort


Vehicle Lockouts • An officer will help if you lock your keys in your car • Call the Police Department • Must sign a Vehicle Assistance Release of Liability form • Service provided at no charge


Vehicle Jump-Starts • Available through Parking Services • Jumper cables can be borrowed from the Police Department • Must sign a Vehicle Assistance Release of Liability • Service provided at no charge


Campus Issues Property and Miscellaneous Crimes • 91% of crimes reported • Theft • Unattended items • Burglary • Building, residence or motor vehicle • Unlocked doors (rooms and vehicles) • Items in plain view • Unfamiliar guests • Parking hangtags • Cell phones, purses, laptops and other electronics


Crimes Against Persons These types of crimes are rare (9% of crimes reported) Almost all involve: • Acquaintances • Domestic issues • The use of alcohol and/or drugs Few involve aggression by strangers


Emergency Telephones Located in a variety of locations throughout campus • The emergency button puts you in direct contact with SIUE Police and notifies dispatch of your exact location • The non-emergency button is used for: • Car trouble • To obtain an escort • Other non-emergency situations Calls go directly to SIUE Police
