Set sail on the resorts own speedboat, into the early morning horizon and explore the majestic waters around Con Dao archipelago. As you venture to deserted island inlets for snorkelling the bountiful underwater treasures; some of the most biodiverse coral reefs in Vietnam, will appear. Jump into the cool still waters, with perfect clarity this diving season, or for the more advanced, scuba into open waters to greet the (harmless!) sharks, turtles and other precious ocean habitants, protected by RAMSAR, while our hosts set up a picnic on a beach just for you. And, if you spot the endangered green sea turtles, say “Xin Chao” because there’s a chance they were born at Six Senses Con Dao’s own incubation centre “Let’s Get Cracking”.

Challenge yourself with the longest and hardest trekking trail in Con Dao. A 2.5 km coastal walk along Vong beach will lead you to the verdant tropical rainforests, before raising your heartbeat with an almost-60-degree incline. Stop and admire the views, as the curious Curved-Toe Geckos marvel at your adventurous spirit, and the Macaques call out to you from the treetops above. Work your way down to a deserted beach, set in complete solitude as you dip in the crystal-clear waters with a myriad of colourful pebbles, while we arrange you an energizing picnic lunch, before heading back, the easy way!

Pick your favourite steel-horse and pedal through the off-beaten tracks with your expert guide, venturing into the almost deserted national park of Con Dao. Feel the wind brush through your hair as you heed the call to explore the amazing lush flora and investigate the deep jungle sounds of the island. Many unique animals that cannot be found anywhere else in Vietnam, such as the Giant Black Squirrels, Nicobar Birds, Pied Imperial Pigeons together with the Macaques swinging high in the trees, call Con Dao their home. This easy paced cycle tour is perfect for those who want the great outdoors, without breaking too much of a sweat.

We’ve restored our beach to make it an ideal place for egglaying by endangered green sea turtles. This project, in cooperation with Con Dao National Park authorities, includes a safe and monitored incubation enclosure to protect eggs from threats such as poaching. Guests are encouraged to participate in our ethical hatchling releases and those lucky enough to be here when our eggs hatch have called the experience lifechanging. Try your hand at collecting beach clams the traditional way. Six Senses beach is a prime clam area and throughout the year we allot certain sections where clams can be collected, sustainably. Using the traditional tools of the trade, we will show you how to search for and collect clams.
