We’ve restored our beach to make it an ideal place for egglaying by endangered green sea turtles. This project, in cooperation with Con Dao National Park authorities, includes a safe and monitored incubation enclosure to protect eggs from threats such as poaching. Guests are encouraged to participate in our ethical hatchling releases and those lucky enough to be here when our eggs hatch have called the experience life-changing.

In another effort toward selfsustainability, we have our own organic garden, Sense of Gardening to produce organic food and reduce environmental impacts due to resort’s operation. This extensive organic garden produces many types of plants including fruit, vegetables and herbs with a mushroom hut. It is the main source of fresh ingredients in our restaurants and bar. Guests can join together in a chefaccompanied tour, learning about the produce and selecting their pick of the crops and cooking together in the Garden kitchen.

Visit our new residence called “The Chicken Villa” right in the organic garden and develop your green fingers, “Be a Farmer” for a day with the hosts, and get to feed the chickens and learn traditional harvesting methods. These are just some of our new initiatives to reduce food waste and promote organic decomposition.

What do you get when you combine Six Senses Con Dao and Golf? Well-fed fish! While we don’t have the space for a full 18 holes, we do have a lot of ocean. Using our EcoBioBalls® you are able to practice your swing and knock a few into the water from the Elephant Mountain Platform. EcoBioBalls® dissolve in 48 hours and the remains serve as fish food. To cause the least disturbance to natural feeding habits we do limit the number of balls played daily at a maximum of 60 balls per day.

Try your hand at collecting beach clams the traditional way. Six Senses beach is a prime clam area and throughout the year we allot certain sections where clams can be collected, sustainably. Using the traditional tools of the trade, we will show you how to search for and collect clams.
