hello! If you are reading this then you're probably considering placing your child with us. We understand this can be a very tough decision to make and we don't want you to second guess if we are the right fit for your child.  We are so thankful to be considered to provide a safe and loving home for your child to grow and thrive in. We have a peaceful and happy life together, and the only thing we're missing now is a little one to share it all with. Whether it's Disney trips, beach vacations, visits to petting zoos, impromptu dance parties in the living room or cuddling up to watch a movie we're ready for it all. We are "the cool aunt and uncle" and are ready to be the "cool parents" that host over the top birthday parties, Christmas dinners, bring a variety of (allergen friendly) homebaked goods to the school bake sale, make excessive trips to the library & zoo, chaperone field trips and help coach basketball games. We are the proud aunt and uncle of 9 nephews, 5 nieces, 1 great nephew and 2 great nieces. That's a grand total of 17 and the family is ready for more too! If you haven't already guessed we have a big family and are ready to add some little ones to our home to share our life with through adoption. We get asked constantly when we will have children but sadly we can't conceive naturally.
We are hoping to be matched with a healthy, African American child, 0-1 years old of either gender. We are also open to twins! We thank you again for taking the time to read our profile. If you have any questions or would like to talk more in-depth please feel free to reach out.
OUR STORY We met on May 22, 2010, after a night out on the town. Neither of us wanted to go out but our friends convinced us and at the last minute, we decided to go. Jourdan saw Solomon coming towards her and she waited for him to get close enough to speak. June 1 was our first date and we quickly became inseparable. We spent the summer getting to know each other and fall in love.
April 26, 2013, Solomon proposed at in a private birthday celebration for Jourdan. Were married 2 years later at a beautiful venue in Houston, Tx on May 22, 2015 surrounded by friends and family. We were so happy to become 'one' on the anniversary of the day we met.

home sweet home We bought our first home in April 2017. It's a 3 bedroom 2.5 bath townhome in a developing community. We plan to use this as a vacation rental when we move back to Houston to purchase our "forever home". We live about 15 minutes away from all the Disney parks and plan to keep this home for us and family to stay in when we plan Disney vacations in the future. We will become Disney Pass holders and take a lot of trips to play at the parks, meet the characters and watch the fireworks. Our home is in a quiet area with a nice view of a lake. We have screened the
patio and use it as a sunroom. and there is a community pool walking distance from our home. There are other small children on our street who often play outside and local facilities for families nearby such as; parentchild fitness classes, an indoor bounce house and gymnastics. Jourdan has started planning the nursery and her mom will fly out from Houston to help her purchase all the necessary items, The child will have their own room with a lot of natural light, a good sized closet and a separate bathroom with a tub.
our parenting philosophy
Even though we are technically "millennials" we have somewhat of an old-school view on parenting. HANDS ON: Neither of us were in daycare and both expressed the desire for our children to be home with a parent. Jourdan will be a stay at home mom and will do everything to make sure the child(ren) is hitting all major milestones, and exceeding expectations for kindergarten. Jourdan is currently researching infant ASL to help the child learn to communicate early. RESPECT: We were raised as different religions but our core beliefs are the same. Solomon's parents are Muslim and Jourdan was raised non-denominational Christian. We will raise our child(ren) to be tolerant and be accepting of those with different belief systems, ethnic backgrounds and walks of life, we plan on teaching our child(ren) a fusion of the two religions. We believe having a strong moral compass is important. EDUCATION: We understand that everyone learns differently and we will do our best to nurture the passions of our child and encourage them to never stop learning. We will help them plan for and pay for college in the major of their choice. If they wish to start a business after graduation we will help guide them to success.
FAMILY: We both come from big families and spend a lot of time with them. We are very close to our parents, siblings and their children. Family always comes first and we always take care of each other. HEALTH: We both had active childhoods and will make sure our child(ren) do the same. We don't believe in letting a child sit and watch TV or play video games all day. Our child(ren) will be in some sort of activity that gets them moving. We watch what we eat and Jourdan will be making the baby food with produce she gets from the farmer's market every weekend. EXPERIENCES: We live in a big world and believe we do ourselves a serious injustice if we don't go out to see and learn about other locations. We have a travel bucket list and want our child(ren) to experience other cultures. LOVE: Solomon's father always says the best thing you can do for your child is to pick the right parent for them. We believe that parents that love and respect each other is a great example for child(ren) to see. We are very affectionate and look forward to snuggling up on the couch for family movie night (which may or may not be a Disney movie). FUN: Life is short! You should enjoy it as much as you can and kids should enjoy being kids for as long as they can. So we will have big holiday celebrations and birthday parties to celebrate it all.
Thank you! Thank you for taking the time to get to know us a little better. We look forward to getting to know you as well. - Jourdan & Solomon
“Family isn’t always blood. It’s the people in your life who want you in theirs. The ones you accept you for who you are. The ones who would do anything to see you smile, and who love you no matter what.” Unknown
