San Jose Christian School Annual Report 2016
Loving Learning Serving
Dear Parents and Friends of SJCS, It is with a profound sense of gratitude for God’s faithfulness that we present this Annual Report of 2015-2016. This publication provides a snapshot of the progress of the school and expresses appreciation for the financial support that is so important in providing high-quality Christian education for our families. Responsible stewardship of the resources that we have been given is serious business for us, and we strive to deliver the highest possible return on mission in the lives of our students. As you read through this, celebrate God’s goodness to our community, be inspired by the success of our students, and rejoice that we are part of an intentional Christian community where above all, we want God to be glorified as we Love Him, Learn together and Serve others. Joyfully Serving,
Jenn Thompson Head of School

One Family’s Story In October, we began looking for a new school and had many options from private to public schools; it was very overwhelming. We were looking for a loving and nurturing environment, as well as a school where our daughter could be challenged academically and grow spiritually. After searching high and low, we found San Jose Christian School, and right away we fell in love with the school and staff. As parents we were concerned about making the move since the 2015 school year had already begun, but we took a chance, and it has been a blessing ever since. SJCS welcomed us with open arms; everyone is so nice, caring, and supportive. Our daughter is so happy; she loves her new school, teacher, friends, and all the staff. We truly appreciate all the support that SJCS has given us and the help to make this transition a smooth one; our daughter literally adapted within the second day of school! We feel truly blessed to be a part of SJCS and feel right at home. Our daughter feels happy, safe, loved, and cared for, and that makes us feel completely at ease—SJCS is amazing. We love our new home and recommend it without a doubt!
A Joyful SJCS Family

During the 2015-2106 school year we renewed our CSI accreditation. Additionally, we received official notification that we passed our WASC (Western Association of Schools and Colleges) accreditation with flying colors. The accrediting team had amazing things to say about our school, and the overwhelming message was:

Faithful Stewards
God continues to bless San Jose Christian through the generosity of people who bless the school through their stewardship giving. The on-going needs of SJCS will sometimes exceed the operational revenue of the school. That is why the school counts on private donations to provide the margin of excellence that is expected. The Bridge Fund, Auction, and Walk-a-Thon all provide opportunities for the financial support of SJCS that clearly impacts the lives of the next generation.

Speak Life As we look forward to the 2016-2017 school year, we ask you to pray with and for us as we learn to Speak Life to each other. This theme, along with our theme verse Ephesians 4:29, Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen, will be our focus of chapel as we talk about the importance of words. First and foremost, we want to know and understand God’s Word. Secondly, we will use encouraging words with each other as we live in community. Memorize this verse with us this year and may the words of our mouths be pleasing to God.
