Success is a word that is used a lot. Most people want to be successful: successful parents, successful students, successful in business, successful in sports, etc. We generally think of success as the accomplishment of some goal or achieving material prosperity. However, the Hebrew word for success used in the Old Testament is the word sakhal which originally meant “to follow after.” Depending on the context the word sakhal also translates as “to be wise” or “to prosper.” Spiritually speaking, success could be defined as “attaining wisdom” or “prospering spiritually.” At San Jose Christian School, we want our students to prosper academically, but more importantly, we want them to prosper spiritually and engage the culture around them with wisdom and discernment. Our mission is “to advance the kingdom of God by providing exceptional teaching and curriculum fully integrated with biblical perspective. Within our committed Christian community, we live to engage and transform culture for Jesus Christ.” As we are in the process of re-enrollment for next year, we look forward to partnering with you to help put your child on the road to both academic and spiritual success so that they may be a force for transforming the culture for Christ.

Great job to all the families who have already submitted their re-enrollment for the 2019-20 school year. We encourage all families to take advantage of the early reenrollment incentive. By enrolling on or before March 1 your enrollment is $250 per student. After March 1 the fee increases to $500/student. If you would like to discuss your re-enrollment or any other plans you are considering for next year we encourage you to contact Mr. Hucks or Mrs. Phillips. They would welcome the opportunity to discuss your plans for next year.
Nut Safety Policy A number of students in a wide range of grade levels at SJCS have significant allergies to tree nuts and peanuts. We seek to provide a safe environment for those students, and we ask families to do their very best to avoid sending food to school that contains the allergens. This policy applies to lunches as well as snacks or treats brought into the classroom for any reason. We also ask that students not share any food with each other. Please help us keep all students and our campus safe.

Tiger Tracks Inquiring Families Open House Wednesday, February 13 | 6:30-8:00pm Wednesday evening SJCS will host families who are interested in information about San Jose Christian School. We encourage our SJCS community to share your story boldly. Invite friends and family to learn more about SJCS. As a reminder, the Board has approved an increase to the Tiger Bucks program. By successfully recommending a new family, current SJCS families will have an opportunity to earn $1,000 in Tiger Bucks. More details about the Tiger Bucks program can be found in the Parent Student Handbook at Section 7.3.
GrandFriends Day - 2019 This Thursday we will celebrate SJCS with our GrandFriends. GrandFriends are defined as grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and all who support our children in their education Our goal is to share the awesome programs and curriculum with those who support our students. The event will begin with coffee and pastries at 8:15am. The program will start at 8:45am in the SJCS Auditorium. Classroom visit will be from 10:30am - 11:45am. Jr. K - 8th grade will have an early dismissal at 11:45am. All students are expected to attend the day.
For Our Tiger Cubs Re-enrollment: Please turn in your re-enrollment forms by February 28th in order to secure your spot for summer and beyond. If forms are not returned by February 28th, your child's spot will be released on June 6, 2019.

Save the Date! Volunteer Appreciation The students and faculty at SJCS will be celebrating our Volunteers from February 25 through March 1. Our goal is to show our appreciation to each person who supports SJCS with time and energy. This special week will culminate with an appreciation event on the evening of Friday, March 1. Watch your email for more details.
Bring Us Your Boxtops We’re driving for another round of Boxtops this month, and the class competition continues. Bring in your boxtops by March 15 for credit.
T.I.G.E.R. Summer Camp June 17th - August 9th Summer Tiger Camp registration is coming soon. Come enjoy a summer filled with teaching, inspiration, growth, exploration, and rejoicing in all things that God has created! Three age groups will be offered this year: Tiger Leadership - Grades 5th - 8th Tiger Youth - Grades 1st - 4th Tiger Cubs - Entering JK and Kindergarten Kim Basl will be sending out more details in the weeks to come.
