Walk-A-Thon 2012 SJCS Rises Up at 2012 Walk-a-Thon On Saturday October 13, hundreds of people spent the day at SJCS for the 9th annual Walk-a-thon (WAT). The WAT fundraiser is the only one that involves students, and all of the money raised at the event benefits our children directly—covering costs for things like field trips, playground and PE equipment, and music supplies. Each class also receives a given amount for its own activities and supplies throughout the year. Furthermore, the WAT provides a tremendous chance to build school community, and judging by all the smiles and laughter on Saturday, the event demonstrated the special family atmosphere that makes SJCS so unique. When all the walkers had finished, the prizes had been awarded, and the tables and chairs had been put away, everyone had a chance to reflect on the day and be thankful for its success. As a fundraiser, we know that the WAT has brought in over $43,000 so far, with more money coming in this week that will propel us to the $50,000 mark. We are calculating all donations this week, and will announce the final results of the 2012 WAT at the Fall Town Hall. If you have any additional donations to turn in please bring them to the school office. But even more, it brought us together and reminded us what we love about our school. To all of our organizers, sponsors, volunteers, donors, students, parents, and attendees, thank you for making the 2012 WAT such a success!

Fall Town Hall - October 30 | 6:30pm

SJCS 0 Baymonte 16 The defense of the Tigers was pretty strong all game long. We held Baymonte to two scores. Alfred B. played great again. We had the defense matched right but lacked the execution necessary to seal it. Nick M. made some more great catches all game having to fight through some tough no calls from the ref. The offense looks to bounce back next game against LGCS.

The Annual Fall Town Hall meeting will be held on October 30 at 6:30pm in the SJCS Auditorium. Please contact the school office if you will need childcare during the event. Childcare is available from 6:15pm - 8:05pm here at SJCS. The cost is $5.00 per child with a maximum of $15.00 per family.
