Jenn’s Pen - Are You Ready for Some Football? by: Mrs. Jennifer Thompson ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL?? This is Super Bowl week, and our area is going to be hopping! Fans will be gathering, and there will be much excitement leading up to the big event on Sunday afternoon. (I think I will be very intent on staying close to home this weekend!) I was a football mom for 14 years. My children were involved in many different sports, but my boys have always said that the sense of family they enjoyed on the gridiron was never matched in any other sport. In that sense, San Jose Christian School is like a great football team. We have a genuine and support sense of family on this campus. This is a place where we support each other, pray with and for each other, serve together and learn together. Mostly, we love together. So as you watch the game this weekend, be reminded that SJCS is your team that walks beside you in all things. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Ephesians 2:10 P.S. Go Broncos!

Tiger Tracks Alumni Tales Check this section every now and again for exciting stories about our SJCS Alumni doing great things in God’s Kingdom!
This week, we’d like to put the spotlight on an alumnus of SJCS. Below is a le;er from Josh Campista, who graduated from SJCS in 2008. Hello everybody, My name is Joshua Campista, and I am an undergraduate student at UC Berkeley. I formerly a;ended San Jose ChrisGan School from 2000 to 2008; I have returned a few Gmes since then to serve as a judge at the Fine Arts FesGval. San Jose ChrisGan School insGlled in me a commitment to serve, and I have taken that commitment with me into college. Today I am a member of the Volunteer Medical AssociaGon (VMO) at Berkeley. VMO is a non-‐profit, student-‐run group that coordinates with other medical organizaGons to assist people living in poverty. Currently, our focus is on helping people living in rural Vietnam who don’t have access to medical care. We are planning to send a group of UC Berkeley students, including myself, to Vietnam this summer where we will work with doctors to operate free mobile clinics. We hope that the free clinics will be able to offer medical examinaGons, prescripGon drugs, operaGons, and health classes, but we need sufficient funds to make this possible. Every member is tasked with the job of raising at least $500, which directly pays for medical supplies and equipment (not personal expenses). If you would like to know more about the VMO or would even like to contribute, please follow the links below or email me, and I’ll be happy to share about the wonderful things that are happening. Thank you for taking the Gme to read my le;er, and have a wonderful day, -‐ Joshua Campista ( joshua.campista@gmail.com) h;ps://www.gofundme.com/v87akwvc If you would like more informaGon about Volunteers for medical Outreach, you can follow this link: h;p://vmoatcal.wix.com/calvmo
