Jenn’s Pen - Auction Time! by: Mrs. Jennifer Thompson Two weeks before I left for college, I bought a really cool, old trunk in which to house my stuff. I was going to be living in a very small room, and I knew it would come in handy. It sure did, and it still does! That trunk came with me to Wheaton, moved to Texas, then Miami, then it went off again with my oldest son to Pittsburgh, back to Miami, Georgia, and it has come back to rest with me in San Jose. I have no idea where it traveled before that, but it is at least 150 years old, still in great condition, and it still holds my stuff. The best part? I bought it at an auction for just $10.00. I love a good deal! Actually, I have always loved auctions. Even as a kid, I loved to go and listen to the auctioneer and see the many treasures that were up for bid. This Saturday, April 9, is the SJCS Auction Going Places, Doing Things, and I can’t wait! This will be my first SJCS auction, and I know that it is going to be a great event where we can spend an evening together, raise some money for our great school, and have some fun together. I haven’t been to an auction for several years, so you just may see me holding up that bidding number more than once. I look forward to seeing you all there!
Auction Update TICKET SALES Today is the last day to reserve tickets at the discounted price of $40/person. The buy 3 get one free incentive also ends at midnight tonight. You do not want to miss the opportunity to bid on your class donation. CLASS INCENTIVE The SJCS homeroom class that has the most parents in attendance will receive additional funds for this years class activity fund as well as next year. Tiger Tracks Teacher Tales: Faith Integration by: Mrs. Camarota The integration of faith is a cornerstone on which SJCS is built. How wonderful it is to see faith in action on campus! During March two classrooms demonstrated faith integration on their classroom windows. Junior Kindergarten created some amazing clovers in honor of St. Patrick’s Day. Their artwork shows how each leaf of a clover represents part of the Trinity: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. What a special way to think about the Trinity! First grade’s window also demonstrates love in action. In honor of Easter, each student created an Easter egg that had been dedicated to another classmate. They wrote something special about another First grade friend with the goal being to “fill the bucket” of someone else. Please take the time to stop by and see these demonstrations of faith in action.
Service Project Update We are a little behind pace on our service project, with 142 tubes of our 450 tube goal. Our competition ends next Friday, so please encourage students to bring in their tubes! When we reach our goal, we will have provided money for over 25,000 meals for starving children. Please join us in this important work and be the hands of Christ to those in need.
Clubs Last Call Spring Clubs start today. For your convenience, we will continue to accept club registrations through Tuesday, April 5. (TOMORROW!) Please note that due to lack of participation the Backyard Games and Pilates and Prayer clubs will not run this session.

Tiger Tracks Tiger Cubs Check this section each week for exciting news about our youngest Tigers! Heat Wave! We are expecting temperatures to rise over the next couple of days. Wednesday is expected to be about 90 degrees! This is a good time to switch over spare clothes and pack a hat for your preschooler. Please also apply sunscreen in the morning and provide us with some to keep on hand for the afternoons.

Mark your calendars for the Sports Awards on Thursday, May 26 from 6:00-8:00!
Boys Volleyball: Due to many contributing factors, there will be no boys volleyball this season. A big thank you to all the boys that participated in athletics this year.
Girls Soccer: Girls soccer practice will begin on Tuesday. Practices will run Mon-Thurs from 3:15-4:45. Coach Kevin Tigue will be returning as head coach. This will be Coach Tigue’s 3rd year as the girls soccer coach. The game schedule will be released later this week. Players will need shin guards, soccer socks/cleats for practices and games. Remember to turn in the $75 participation fee to the office.
