Mom’s In Prayer | 8:30am Room 16

I am not one for resolutions, however, I do like to take time to refocus and challenge myself at the start of the new year. With all the family gathered, I was reminded of a month-long trip we took to Costa Rica about 15 years ago. We were there to attend intensive Spanish language school. Of course, the kids were the most successful, and one of the verses that they learned in Spanish was Micah 6:8. I still say it in Spanish whenever I see it. As I thought of that verse recently, I decided that I would use it as my 2016 “guide” verse. I pray that as we serve and honor the Lord this year in all we do, that this verse would ring true for us all. He has shown you, O man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. Micah 6:8

Tiger Tracks Re-Enrollment starts January 25

Sports Update

On January 25th, SJCS will launch re-enrollment for the 2016-2017 school year. Watch the Tiger Tracks for more information on incentives for early response.

Boys Basketball: The SJCS Boy’s Basketball Team continues to improve each game playing for God and for each other. The week before the break, the Tigers played Los Gatos Christian twice and were oversized in the post and came up short both games.

Attention 8th Grade Families! It’s time for Graduation Pictures 8th Grade graduation photos will be taken on Wednesday, January 20th starting at 8:30 am. Boys should wear a collared shirt with a tie. There will be two photos taken, one in the graduation gown and another in their "street clothes" which is whatever they have on. Order forms will be sent home before the end of the week. Please be sure to have your order form and payment ready on the 20th and plan on being on time that day. The graduation gown photo is the photo that will be appear in the yearbook. Please call Mrs. Singh if you have any questions.

Love & Logic Parenting Class at SJCS As you begin to look to the new year we encourage you to consider taking the upcoming Love & Logic Parenting classes that will be offered beginning January 11. This parenting program is designed to give you practical skills that can be used right away! The attached flyer has details and information to help you understand more about the classes and benefits.

Upcoming Events

The Tigers fought hard during the second game and made a run in the 4th quarter. Both Josh and Evan hit 3-point shots each. Los Gatos couldn't stop Evan from penetrating the paint and distributing passes to open teammates. Jack led SJCS scorers with 8 points. Both Josh and Evan scored 7 points. Jared added 5 points and Jacob chipped in 2 points. It was doubtful that Jack would play in the game due to an injured knee. The team prayed healing over Jack’s knee before the game and it was a miracle that he was able to play the entire game without any signs of injury. The Tigers play two league games this week and next week, and are making a run for the playoffs. Come support the team and cheer them on!

CPTA Meeting this Friday! Kick off the New Year by attending the January CPTA Meeting, 8:30am in Room 16. The CPTA is working on upcoming events and activities for the new year. Your input is needed. Refreshments will be served. Contact Jill Zapp, CPTA President with questions or comments.
