Let's Play Games!
Come and play some social games such as bingo, Loteria, Connect Four, Jenga, and more! We will get to play many games to stimulate our brains and to socialize with our friends! Participants must be able to participate in a 1:6 staff to participant ratio and independent with personal care needs or provide an attendant.

Around the Town Club
We're back! It's time for us to go back in the community. Join us for a night on the town! This social club utilizes community activities which are selected by the group to improve socialization, leisure awareness and independent living skills. Try new things and explore your community with the support and encouragement of friendly, knowledgeable staff.
The first night of program will be held at the Camden Community Center. Location thereafter varies based on participants chosen activities. Members must be able to participate within a 1:6 staff to participant ratio and be independent with their personal care needs. Please note: registration fee covers staffing costs only. Additional fees may be required based on chosen activities. Masks will be strongly recommended when at the community center.
Monthly Social September: Pancake Night
Enjoy breakfast for dinner with us! Join us for a night of making your own special pancakes. We'll make the batter together and you'll be able to add fruit, sweets, whip cream, and/or good old fashion maple syrup. We'll also play a group game.
Participants must be able to participate in a 1:8 staff to participant ratio and be able to attend to their own personal care needs or have an attendant present.

Monthly Social October: Halloween Movie Night
Join us if you dare! Participate in a friendly scary movie night. Dress in your Halloween costume, make a spooky sweet treat, and gobble on buttery popcorn while watching the featured film.

Monthly Social November: Happy Fruits-giving!
Come join us as we continue the celebration of Thanksgiving by making a special treat that we're calling Fruit-copias! You can may have your choice of decorating with various berries, bananas, melons, oranges, and much more. Don't forget to add some chocolate or caramel syrup.

HIRLN at Golfland
HIRLN (Head Injury Recreation and Leisure Network) invites you to join us for a round of putt putt golf at Golfland! We will separate into groups depending on different levels of skill and play all 3 golf courses. We will meet at the entrance of the facility.
Please register in advance either on-line or in-person at nearest community center. Participants must be able to participate in a 1:8 staff to participant ratio and be able to attend to their own personal care needs or have an attendant present. Attendant will need to pay for own fees or register in activity.

HIRLN Red Robin Burger Night
HIRLN (Head Injury Recreation and Leisure Network) invites you to join us for a delicious dinner at Red Robin Gourmet Burgers and Brews. We will meet inside of the restaurant and be seated as a group. The price will cover the main entrée and one fountain drink. Participants will need to bring extra money for other purchases.
Please register in advance in person or online. Participants must be able to participate in a 1:8 staff to participant ratio and be able to attend to their own personal care needs or have an attendant present. Attendant will need to pay for own fees or register for activity.

Time to give thanks at Mayfair Community Center's Annual HIRLN Thanksgiving Dinner! We will have all the classic holiday dishes such as turkey, mash potatoes, stuffing, and sweet pies. Dance for Fun
Come join us for some fun group dancing! Enjoy a new theme every week, with an open dance studio to dance your heart out! There is no right way to dance, so put on your dancing shoes and let's get up and dance together! Bascom Group Arts
This program is geared towards groups of people with disabilities. Come check out the Bascom Community Center and relax with some arts and crafts. This program is designed to improve fine motor skills, creativity and social skills. You will be guided through art projects and specialty crafts.
Organization's staff must accompany clients in a 4 to 1 ratio. This class is not designed for individuals without staff/attendant.

Come and enjoy different art forms such a coloring, drawing, painting and more! Th art class is directed towards teen an young adults with disabilities. Each wee we will try different art forms. Scrapbook Club
Enjoy being creative with art and writing? Come join us to design and build your very own scrapbook. Fill your book with pictures, memories, and thoughts. Participants may have the option to follow each night's different theme or create their own. Also participants are welcomed to bring own supplies such as old magazines, pictures, or other scrap papers.

Mayfair Group Arts
Come join us at Mayfair Community Center for some arts and crafts fun! Throughout the program participants will improve fine motor skills, increase social skills, and learn to expand their creativity. Each class will be guided by a City Staff. This program is geared towards groups of people with disabilities.
Organization's Staff must accompany clients 1:4 staff to participant ratio. This class is not designed for individuals without staff/attendant.

Simply Cooking
This introductory course for individuals with disabilities (ages 16+) and it covers basic kitchen safety, basic menu planning, and preparing simple dishes. Menus will include breakfast, lunch, dinner, and desserts. Class includes lecture, observation, and hands on preparation. Participants will receive instructional materials to take home. Class is conducted in a teaching kitchen which utilizes gas burners.
Participants must be able to function in a 1:4 staff to participant ratio, independent with personal care needs or provide an attendant for personal care.

Beginner Wheelchair Basketball
Nothin' but net! Come out and shoot some hoops with your friends while you learn the exciting sport of wheelchair basketball. You will learn new techniques, skills, and practice drills. All ability levels welcome. No sports chair, no problem; we have extra sports chairs available to use during program. Tournament opportunities are available for big gamers. Don't miss out! Participants must be able to function in a 1:10 staff to participant ratio, and independent with personal care needs.

Advanced Wheelchair Basketball
This is a Wheelchair Basketball practice for advanced players who are competing at a high level. Don't miss out! Participants must be able to function in a 1:10 staff to participant ratio and independent with personal care needs or provide an attendant for personal care.

Power Soccer
Do you use a power wheelchair? Join one of the three classes with the San Jose teams in the electrifying and growing sport of power soccer! Whether you just want to learn the sport or aspire to compete in future tournaments, this is the program for you. Participants will learn power soccer techniques, develop skills, practice drills, and prepare for competition.
Participants must be able to function in a 1:8 staff to participant ratio, independent with personal care needs or provide an attendant for personal care.
This class is designed for power wheelchair users.

Adapted Bowling
It's a strike! Join us for our immensely popular bowling program to polish your game while supportive staff and companions cheer you on. Learn technique and etiquette, socialize with new peers, and have a rolling good time.
This program will be located at Bowlero San Jose (5420 Thornwood Drive). Participants must be able to function in a 1:8 staff to participant ratio, and be independent with personal care needs or bring an attended with them.

Adapted Fitness
Don't put it off any longer! The time has come to jump start your fitness level. The program is located at a fully equipped Camden Community Fitness Center. Each participant will receive a customized workout program designed to achieve their personal fitness goals. Participants must be able to function in a 1:5 staff to participant ratio. This program is for individuals 18 years old and up with a physical disability.

Wheels on Fire
Basketball, Disc Golf, Football, Bocce, Softball, Field Events... You play it, we offer it! Wheels on Fire is a sports team designed for athletes with physical disabilities who enjoy a variety of sports at any level. No wheelchair, no problem. We have extra chairs for use during program.
The team practices basic sport skills, team cooperation and rules of competitive play. We also focuses on exposure to a variety of wheelchair sports with the potential for competitive skill development. We may also engage in special holiday themed events or field trips. Snacks may be provided. Pre registration is highly encouraged or the program may be cancelled due to low enrollment.
Participants must be able to participate in a 1:5 staff to participant ratio and be independent with personal care needs or bring an attendant. Masks are highly recommended for the duration of the activity.

Inclusive Active Sports
Let's play some table tennis, also known as ping pong! How about some basketball, or even some brisk walking as a group? This group is an inclusive group for those who want to come socialize and play table tennis, basketball, and stay active with friends! Participants must be able to participate in a 1:6 staff to participant ratio and independent with personal care needs or provide an attendant.

Edible Cinema! (Inclusion)
Join us for a unique way to experience cinema! Lets explore our favorite movies through aroma, textures, taste, and more. Each participant will enjoy a snack made tailored to the movie we are watching for the week of. Program time will vary depending on movie length. Each participant must be able to function in a 1:10 staff ratio. If a participant requires further assistance, a caregiver may attend the program for additional support.
Sensory Science Fun!
This course is specifically designed to empower individuals with disabilities to engage in hands-on scientific investigations through sensory-based projects. This unique class combines the excitement of scientific inquiry with a focus on accommodating diverse sensory needs and enhancing the learning experience for every participant. Participants must be able to function in a 1:10 staff ratio, or have a guardian or caregiver present.
Ranger Hike at Emma Prusch!
Join us for an inclusive and enriching outdoor experience as we embark on an Accessible Nature Hike at the picturesque Emma Prusch Farm Park. Led by experienced Park Rangers, this guided hike is tailored to provide an engaging and accessible exploration of the park's natural wonders. During the hike, participants will have the opportunity to connect with nature, observe local wildlife, and learn about the unique ecosystems that thrive within the park. Our knowledgeable park rangers will share fascinating insights about the plants, animals, and history of Emma Prusch Farm Park, ensuring an educational and captivating journey for all. Program will be taking place AT Emma Prusch Farm Park.
All participants will meet at Emma Prusch at 12:00 pm. All participants must function with a 1:10 staff ratio, or an attendant must be enrolled if additional support is needed.
Talent Showcase!
Do you have a secret talent that you haven't had the chance to show off? Well this is your time to shine! Join us at Seven Trees Community Center for the once in a lifetime opportunity to show off your special skills in front of your friends and family!
Parents and Guardians may attend and watch for free. Participants must be ready to perform or present if enrolled. Enrollment is open for participants who want to join and watch as well. Caregiver or guardian must be present if participant needs further assistance.
Virtual Music Mondays
Love to listen to music? Join us on Zoom where each night will feature a different music genre or theme such as Hits from the 90's, songs that won awards, or songs by your favorite singer. We can listen, sing, dance, and chat all about music. Participants will be able to requests songs via email or chat. This program is designed for persons with disabilities but, anyone may join.
Zoom link will be sent prior to start of program.
Virtual Game Zone
Game on! Join us for weekly game nights on Zoom to partake in various games all in the name of fun. Each night will be a different game such as Family Feud, Scene it?, Scrabble, and much more. This class is designed for adults with disabilities but, anyone can partake.
Scholarships Available
The City of San Jose offers activity scholarships for children, seniors, and adults with disabilities who qualify. Scholarships will cover 75% of class cost. Fill out form and bring the necessary documents to an City of San Jose community center. For more information contact any community center.
