Play Camp
Every kid wants to play! These day camps are designed for children with cognitive disabilities who need a higher level of staff assistance for participation, including those with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Activities include arts and crafts, group games, circle time, a field trip, and more.


Children should bring a sack lunch to camp each day. Participants must be able to function in a 1:3 staff to participant ratio and be independent with personal care needs or bring an attendant with them. Attendants will need to complete City of San José background clearance (fingerprinting) and provide proof of vaccination status.

Teens Together

Everybody wants to have fun! Be social, make some friends, learn some new skills. This camp for teens with disabilities and their non-disabled siblings and friends will provide a safe and structured opportunity to be a teen. Some field trips, lots of games, crafts and other cool stuff! Teens must be able to function in a 1:4 staff to participant ratio and be independent with their personal care, or provide an attendant.

Project Power! Type 2 Diabetes Prevention Camp
Is your child diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes, pre-diabetes or pre-prediabetes? Are they close to being diagnosed? Has your pediatrician encouraged your child to eat healthier, exercise more, or lose weight? If you said YES to any of these questions, then this camp is for you! Come have fun and learn about healthy lifestyle choices. This is a camp with art, sports, activities, healthy snacks, and diabetes education. A diabetes educator and dietician will be at the camp to answer questions and teach healthy living skills. Camp staff will get the kids moving and having fun! Ages 5-12. This camp is a joint collaboration between the City of San José and the American Diabetes Association.

Diabetes Camp Type 1
This collaborative day camp program is provided by the City of San José's Therapeutic Services and California Diabetes Association. There will be fun activities, outings, games, crafts, and diabetes education. Parental/guardian education meetings available as needed. Nursing staff will be on site to help monitor blood sugars and provide education to participants and families.

Wheelchair Sports and Recreation Camp (Inclusive)


Join us for a fun summer as we learn to play a variety of wheelchair sports activities, engage in arts and crafts, play social games, hang out with friends, and go on field trips.
Camp will include introductory and intermediate instructions in wheelchair sports for individuals with physical disabilities.
Camp will also include hand-on DIY arts and crafts where individuals get to explore their creativity side.
For field trips, we will meet at a designated location. More details to come!

*Inclusive camp for those who want to include their siblings and friends!

Let's Play Games!

Come and play some social games such as bingo, Loteria, Connect Four, Jenga, and more! We will get to play many games to stimulate our brains and to socialize with our friends! Participants must be able to participate in a 1:6 staff to participant ratio and independent with personal care needs or provide an attendant.

Around the Town Club
We're back! It's time for us to go back in the community. Join us for a night on the town! This social club utilizes community activities which are selected by the group to improve socialization, leisure awareness and independent living skills. Try new things and explore your community with the support and encouragement of friendly, knowledgeable staff.
The first night of program will be held at the Camden Community Center. Location thereafter varies based on participants chosen activities. Members must be able to participate within a 1:6 staff to participant ratio and be independent with their personal care needs. Please note: registration fee covers staffing costs only. Additional fees may be required based on chosen activities. Masks will be strongly recommended when at the community center.

Monthly Social June: Ready, Set, Go Sports Night!

Got some extra energy? Enjoy sports? Come join us for a night of being active and getting a work out all while partaking in various sports. We got options of Hockey, 4 square, Soccer, and more. There will be snacks and drinks provided. Highly recommend participants to wear active clothing and closed toed running/active shoes.
All participants must be able to function in a 1:8 staff to participant ratio and be independent with personal care needs or bring attendant with them.

Monthly Social July: Splash!
Need to escape the heat? Come join us for a night of water fun with friends and staff. We'll toss water balloons, play a game of water tag, and make water inspired crafts. Highly recommended to wear active clothes, closed toed shoes, and bring towels.

Monthly Social August: End of Summer BBQ
Summer is coming to an end so let's have an outdoor send off! Join us for our annual end of summer BBQ where we will enjoy some hot dogs, fruit, chips, and even make a potato salad. There will also be games to play with friends.

HIRLN: Round 1 Karaoke Night
HIRLN (Head Injury Recreation and Leisure Network) invites you to join us for a night of singing and fun. We will meet at the entrance of Round 1 and spend the night showing off those vocal skills. Sing solo, sing as duos, or singing as a group we'll do it all.
Must register in advance either on-line or in person at nearest community center. Participants must be able to participate in a 1:8 staff to participant ratio and be able to attend to their own personal care needs or have an attendant present. Attendant will need to pay for own fees or register in activity.
