SISTER CITIES INTERNATIONAL ANNUAL CONFERENCE IN COLORADO Come be a part of one of Aurora’s first truly transnational conferences. From July 31 through August 4, 2018 nearly 1,000 people from across the nation and globe will convene at Aurora’s Hyatt Regency Hotel and Conference Center near the Anschutz Medical Campus for the 2018 Sister Cities International Annual Conference. In its 62nd year, the conference draws municipal officials, business leaders, educators, and engaged citizen diplomats to participate in informative sessions with industry thought leaders, U.S. Department of State experts, and model program administrators.
The conference consists of two full days of seminars and workshops; an exhibit hall; a city of Aurora welcome reception; a Mayors summit; an opening flag ceremony showcasing the flags of sister cities around the globe; the Lou Wozar Annual Awards Dinner; the Sister Cities International Youth Leadership Summit; a VIP reception; and a number of pre- and post-conference tours including a microbrew tour, a diaspora tour, and a metro-area “arts” tour. Through these workshops, tours, offsite events, and local partnerships, we anticipate reaching over 10,000 people.
