Designers

Arturo Álvarez Arturo Álvarez is an established creator, recognized in Spain and out of its borders for his conceptual contributions to the lighting design in the world. His work has a recognizable own style, of strong personality. In the past few years he has been doing an exhaustive work of experimentation and research, developing his proprietary materials. He manipulates with skill, forms, volumes and sources of light, in a simple but elegant way, conceiving in the spaces surprising pop-up lighting installations. Energy saving and LED lighting are increasingly present in his work. The recognition of more than 20 years of career come with two consecutive awards “Good Design”, in 2008 for Gea and in 2009 for Fluo, gave by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design. In 2013 in Las Vegas they gave him the HD Product Design Competition Award in Lighting category. Bety one of his most emblematic designs, is at the Museum of Decorative Arts in Barcelona.

Arturo Álvarez es un consolidado creador reconocido tanto dentro como fuera de España, por sus aportaciones conceptuales al mundo de la iluminación de diseño. Su trabajo posee un estilo propio y reconocible, de fuerte personalidad. En los últimos años viene realizando una labor exhaustiva de experimentación e investigación desarrollando sus propios materiales. Maneja con soltura formas, volúmenes y fuentes de luz de una forma sencilla y elegante, llegando a concebir en los espacios montajes lumínicos y escenográficos sorprendentes. El ahorro energético y la iluminación LED están cada vez más presentes en su trabajo.

Los reconocimientos a más de veinte años de carrera llegan con dos premios consecutivos “Good Design”, en 2008 por el diseño Gea y en 2009 por Fluo, concedidos por The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design. Y en 2013 en las Vegas le otorgan el HD Product Design Competition Award en la categoría Iluminación. Bety uno de sus diseños más emblemáticos, está en el Museo de las Artes Decorativas de Barcelona.

Materials Arturo Alvarez has been developing for some years now a deep and extense work in materials. Exploring the possibilities of everyday elements by decontextualizing and giving them new uses.
