The New Vernacularists past
present
A comparative study of how W.H.Whyte, Kevin Lynch, Robert Venturi, Robert Smithson, and J.B.Jackson view vernacular urban spaces. A local neighborhood is used as case study and observations documented in the manner of each theorist. At the core of the project is the belief that to fully design for a place it must be viewed through many eyes and from many perspectives.
