2024 condo sales in Mission Bay improved year-over-year versus a lackluster 2023 market. Total transactions increased by 14% while average price per square foot recovered modestly +3.4%.
Buyer psychology currently has an opportunistic mindset and is motivated mostly by the notion of getting good deals. The buyer demographic is hyperlocal consisting of renters or people looking to trade up. Two bedrooms are outperforming a stagnant one bedroom market.
The home market is derivative of the office and retail markets, which continue to be bleak despite a robust stock market and strong dollar. The current talk of the town is AI & quantum computing. Rents are holding up well.
